Well Done !

We proudly introduce K-9 Kahless, a Belgian Malinois. In his first 5 days on the job, he made 4 drug busts – including m**h and he**in. Quite impressive for our newest deputy, who is merely 13 months old! We are equally proud to share that the purchase and training of Kahless was made possible thanks to JEGS Performance. Through their generous donation to the Delaware County Foundation, JEGS is helping us get dangerous drugs off the streets.

Kahless and his handler, Deputy Brandon Hunter, passed their state certification 10 days ago, following a lengthy and intense training program. Kahless is already deeply loyal to his partner and is eager to please.

The Ohio Revised Code does not require law enforcement agencies to use K-9 units, but it has become somewhat of a community expectation – one that we happily fill, thanks in large part to community partners such as JEGS.

Kahless joins our other two Belgian Malinois, Cash and Essac. Continue to follow us on social media to learn more about our K-9 Unit and to see them in action.

Police officers were on the scene of a domestic when the male suspect opened fire on them, striking both the Handler and his Partner, K9 Haas. The Handler was able to fire back and the suspect was located deceased. The Handler was taken to the hospital, treated and released. K9 Haas did not survive.

Thank you K9 Hero Maiko, a seven-year-old multi-purpose dog, had served six tours in Afghanistan gave his life to save his Ranger Unit.

We are so proud & thankful to all those who serve & protect.

A US army canine who gave his life in Afghanistan was mourned on social media as a hero who saved his handler as well as numerous other Army Rangers, reported Stars and Stripes. Maiko, a seven-year-old highly specialized multi-purpose dog, had served six tours in Afghanistan.
