I offer telehealth Sessions over a secure internet connection. telehealth sessions are just like being in-person. The sessions are live and the therapist and person are able to interact with each other face-to-face without having to leave their homes. The initial session is an evaluation to assess you Mental Health and Substance Use needs.

As always I am seeing people in person as well. Just call to set up an appointment.

There is a stigma that still exists among some people and institutions that Mental Health and Substance Use issues are the result of some sort of faulty thinking or even sin. More and more research in the field of both Mental Health and addictions shows strong evidence that genetics play a role in both. Environment and the need for healthy coping skills are a major factor as well. (articles to be posted later)

Psychotherapy or Counseling helps a person discover reasons for feelings of depression, anxiety, reactions to traumatic events, etc., as well as assisting to develop coping skills to deal with Mental Health or Substance Use issues.

I believe it is the role of the therapist to help people discover for themselves ways to strengthen their lives. Every person has problems, but every person can be happy and/or contented despite those problems.
