Happy Memorable Moment Monday!

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout at our back-to-school event. The children in our community were able to receive complimentary bookbags, school supplies, pizza, and haircuts provided by Edwin at Just Cuttin Up. This event certainly set a positive tone for the upcoming school year. We extend our sincere gratitude to Crystal Smith BOC, Kelly Millsaps CDM, Crystal Hamooz CNA, and Makayla Bell Admission Assistant for their invaluable assistance in preparing the bookbags with school supplies and organizing the event.

Happy Family Friday!

Considering how to further encourage participation, we brought the activities directly to the people. We organized noodle volley and kickball in the hall, accompanied by enjoyable music, which residents and staff alike seemed to appreciate.

Happy Thoughtful Thursday!

In our crafty corner, we were delighted to be tie-dyeing t-shirts. Our residents found this activity to be quite enjoyable and even had family members participate. The colors we selected were chosen to show our support for one of our valued coworkers, who has recently completed treatment and is now a breast cancer survivor. # TeamNida

Happy Tuesday!

Our activity was a delightful taste of summer, featuring freshly cut strawberries, honeydew, peaches, and mandarin oranges. We were reminiscing about summer events, meals, gatherings, and other memorable occasions.

🌡️ Extreme Heat Alert 🌡️

Due to dangerously high temperatures in our region, we are taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors.

All outdoor areas at our centers will remain temporarily closed until weather conditions improve and it is safe to return outside. In the meantime, we have implemented several precautions:

- Clearly marked signs at all outdoor access points
- Alternative indoor activities for residents to enjoy
- Hydration stations throughout our centers
- Close monitoring for signs of heat-related illness
- Supervised and limited outdoor smoking breaks with hydration encouraged
- Staff are encouraged to take regular hydration breaks as well

The safety and well-being of those in our care is always our top priority. We appreciate the support of our families, teams, and communities as we work through this extreme heat together.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!

Happy Memorable Moment Monday!

Marylin White, Director of Nursing, and Crystal Smith, BOC, recently visited the local radio station to share insights about Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center (LRC). During the broadcast, Activity Director Nichol Adams called in with a very special guest—Mr. Alva Stowe, a World War II veteran and new resident at LRC—who spoke about his remarkable life and wartime experiences at the age of 104.

To celebrate Mr. Stowe’s 104th birthday, Ms. Adams organized a heartfelt event featuring special guests from the Lincoln Times Newspaper, the American Legion, and Lincoln County Mayor Ed Hatley, along with Mr. Stowe’s son and close friends.
