HERE’S WHY‼️

As of 2026, (based on a 2024 American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Scientific Affairs expert panel), the use of lead abdominal aprons or thyroid collars is no longer recommended for any patient, including pregnant individuals and children. Modern digital imaging combined with “rectangular collimation” (limiting the beam size) has made the negligible radiation risk low enough that shielding is unnecessary and may interfere with capturing quality images.
