💪 Why I love the deadlift – it's one of the most functional movements out there! Think about it: every day, we bend down to pick up groceries, kids, luggage, or anything heavy off the ground. The deadlift trains exactly that hip hinge pattern, building a strong posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, back) while improving posture and reducing injury risk in real life.
The best part? It's incredibly scalable for any fitness level:

Beginners can start with resistance bands for light, joint-friendly practice.
Progress to kettlebells (single or double) for better grip challenge and unilateral options.
Go heavy with a barbell for maximum strength gains.

No matter your tools, master the deadlift and move better in life!

Jordan Barber, PTA, is a recent addition to our team and a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Jordan is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals and brings a strong work ethic to the clinic each day. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and is an avid fan of all thing's sports.
