Really???
I’m watching something happen again that we worked HARD to fix in the fitness world… and honestly it makes me angry.
Painfully thin bodies are being praised again.
Not just in Hollywood, but inside the wellness industry too.
And young women, and even midlife women, are starting to believe this is what “health” is supposed to look like.
What are we teaching young girls here? And honestly… older women too?
Let me say this clearly as someone who has had her own weight struggles my whole life.
A body that looks starved is NOT a healthy body.
And a number on the scale does NOT tell you how healthy someone actually is.
Too many women (and let's be honest men too) are destroying their metabolism trying to be smaller.
Womens hormones crash from under-eating and endless cardio.
Women who lost muscle, energy, libido, and confidence… just to be skinny.
I am not against GLP1 or Weightloss surgery, hell I had mine in 2018 and it was the best decision I ever made for myself as it helped me take back my life from screwing up my hormones and metabolism due to hormonal medication.
What I am again is people abusing both the above by not using them as a guide to help with a lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising. Instead just taking shots or having surgery and not making the necessary changes.
Here’s the hard truth!
Peptides and metabolic therapies and surgeries can absolutely be powerful to help lose weight.
But only with a healthy plan of action and lifestyle change.
Proper nutrition.
Adequate protein.
Strength training for muscle and bone.
And responsible dosing so we support the body, not shut it down.
Because when these tools are used without rebuilding metabolism, without fueling the body, and without strength training…it becomes just another way women (again & men) slowly starve themselves while calling it “wellness.”
And honestly… it is not a good look!
The goal shouldn’t be to disappear or take up less space.
The goal should be building a body that is strong, fueled, resilient, and capable for decades to come.
Muscle on your frame and Hormones that actually work.
This is NOT a sign of health!!
That doesn’t come from starving your body.
It comes from rebuilding it.
And if you’re going to use advanced tools like peptides or metabolic therapies and surgeries, they should be used with a strategy that protects your metabolism, hormones, and long-term health.
Not chasing a “skinny” trend.
Curious what your thoughts are?
