Meet the Gonzalez family. A staple in the Lindenhurst community (locals will be familiar with Vicky’s deli) who suffered the tremendous loss of their 7 year old son, Dominik, less than a year ago after a courageous fight with childhood cancer. Our families are extremely close and we believe that Sofia & Dom are together out beyond the stars.

This week, tragedy struck the Gonzalez family once again when their family home caught fire. Thankfully, everyone inside made it out safely. However, now the Gonzalez family needs our help. Most of possessions have been ruined either in the fire itself or from water damage. Additionally, their home needs to be completely rebuilt and it is estimated that this will take upwards of a year. This sort of tragedy in the wake of the loss of their beautiful son is unimaginable.

We often get a lot of questions about how all this increased computer use may affect young growing eyes. I usually recommend hobbies that give us a break from the screen use.

I recently came across this AWESOME project featuring a loca Cub Scout pack in Babylon. Have a look! This is one fantastic way to get kids off their electronics!
