Muscle isn’t just about how you look — it’s about how your body functions.
For a long time, women were taught to focus on being smaller.
Less food.
More cardio.
Less weight.
But what’s often missing from that conversation is this:
Muscle is one of the most supportive things you can build for your body — especially as you get older.
Muscle supports your metabolism.
It helps your body use energy more efficiently and maintain a healthy weight over time.
Muscle supports hormone health.
It plays a role in insulin sensitivity, blood sugar balance, and overall hormonal stability.
Muscle supports bone health.
Which becomes increasingly important as we age and want to prevent bone loss.
And this becomes even more important during perimenopause.
As hormones begin to shift, muscle mass naturally declines — which can impact energy, body composition, and how your body responds to stress.
And this is where things start to work together:
Coaching.
Movement.
Nutrition.
And when appropriate, targeted support.
This is also where tools like bioactive peptides can be a helpful addition.
Peptides are made up of amino acids — the building blocks of protein — and are designed to help support things like muscle recovery, repair, and overall performance.
When paired with strength training and proper nutrition, they can help support the body in building and maintaining muscle more effectively.
Not as a replacement — but as support.
No extremes.
No over complication.
Just building a body that can support you long-term.
If this is something you’re starting to think about or navigate, I’m always happy to share what I’m learning 🤍
