The Lindenhurst Council of PTAs is hosting a blood drive Thursday May 22, 2025 from 3:15pm to 7:45pm at the Lindenhurst High School in the Library.

The blood supply is always critical. Each blood donation can save as many as 3 lives and we’re hoping we can count on you to donate.

To be eligible to give blood you must meet the following criteria:
Are you over 16 (16 with parental consent) and under 75 years old (75 and over needs doctor note)
Do you weigh at least 110 lbs?
Are you in good health?
Have you donated whole blood in the last 56 days?

REMINDERS:
Please bring your DONOR CARD, if you have one or a valid ID (picture or signature.)
Bring reading glasses if necessary.
Eat a good meal before you come (nutritious, not fatty).
Drink plenty of fluids (juice and water) prior to appointment.

RFK Jr. is proposing a national autism registry—yet at the same time, his administration is dismantling key supports for people on the spectrum, including the closure of the Administration for Community Living and cuts to programs like State DD Councils, early childhood services, and protection & advocacy networks.

Even more troubling: there’s no clear indication that autistic people were consulted about this registry.

Decisions that impact people’s lives must include those most affected. Autistic voices matter. Respect means inclusion—not surveillance or cuts to essential supports.
