Yesterday I had a client hire me for her families Valentine's breakfast. Rather than give them gift cards they may or not use, I just came with my chair and gave her husband and 5 adult/teen children 20 minute chair massages. You don't have to have a huge event or be a big company to hire me! What other unique events would you like having a massage therapist at to elevate?

What does personalized couples massage instruction actually mean?

It means I don’t show up with a lesson plan or any preconceived ideas about what you should need. No two couples are the same, and I will never have the same session twice.

This week I was in the most beautiful couple’s home. The wife suffers from migraines and low back pain, and her husband simply wanted to be able to help her. She wasn’t interested in learning how to work on him — and that was perfectly okay. So we focused entirely on her needs.

I taught him bolstering techniques for low back pain, and when we started working on massage strokes, he mentioned he’s double-jointed and struggles to support his finger joints. No problem. I adapted everything to soft fists, forearms, and the wooden tools I brought with me.

At one point, while working on her neck, he said, “This is easy — I could do this all day.” When you know how to use your body correctly, it really does become easier.

Because she has difficulty lying flat, I also brought a seated massage chair and taught him techniques he could use for her headaches when time is limited.

After 90 minutes of working side by side, he was able to fully relax and enjoy a 60-minute massage from me — leaving confident, equipped, and ready to help his wife when she’s in pain.

These sessions aren’t cookie-cutter videos or generic routines. They’re practical, real-life skills tailored specifically to your bodies, your limitations, and your needs.

On Saturday I went and did 5 couples massages at a birthday party. I was asked where I normally work and if I do in home massage. I explained that I do, but when I come to your home I teach you how to massage each other.

They were blown away. They said they've been wanting to do that but didn't think it existed.

So I'm here to tell you it does! I will come in, bring the equipment and teach you how to give each other a professional massage without hurting your own body or your loved ones.

Between the increased connection with your partner and the savings in the future when you can fire me, it's kind of a no brainer.

I teach simple, practical techniques you can actually remember and use again — how to read tension, where pain commonly comes from, how to use your body instead of burning out your hands, and how to give pressure that feels good (not awkward or pokey).

This isn’t spa fluff or “rub some lotion and hope for the best.” It’s real, usable bodywork skills from my 19 years as an LMT you can use anytime — after long days, stressful weeks, workouts, or just because.
