Hey friends! Kaleb had a CT scan recently, and the results came back great! No new cancer has grown, and his left kidney is growing and accommodating to the right one being gone, as it should, to double the work load. Also, Kaleb has some special news…he’s going to be featured on Channel 4, KFOR-TVs special, “Kids with Courage”, on 8/30/2022 at 5:00 pm! 😎 Don’t miss it! He was a nut when the news station was here so it’s liable to be funny! 😂

Guess who is healing nicely?? The bruise isn’t the prettiest but the incision looks good, and he’s been as happy and crazy as any “normal” 4 year old boy should be! 💙

We’re here at the Jimmy Everest Center for one last infusion, and then Kaleb is scheduled to have his port removed June 1st! Most people don’t know what I’m talking about when I say port, so I’ve included some better pictures where you’re able to see it and the tubing under his skin.
“A port is a small medical device that is installed beneath the skin, usually in the upper chest. A flexible piece of tubing (catheter) is connected to it. This is tunneled under the skin to an area near the neck where it enters a vein. The center of the port is made of a tough, self-sealing, rubber-like material that can be punctured through the chest skin with a special needle many times. After each puncture, it will reseal instantly.” Ports are used to reduce the number of pokes into veins for people who require continuous iv treatment. So now you know lol. It’s not been the easiest thing to look at for the past 10 months, but he’s accepted it and even calls it his “braveheart”. Just another thing this warrior has overcome! Thank you for all of your continued prayers and positive thoughts! 💙

Hey Krusaders! Long overdue update time! Since the last post, Kaleb has been going once a month to the Jimmy Everest Center at OU Childrens Hospital for his immunity infusions. Today he had a relatively long day, starting with an echocardiogram to make sure his heart is still strong and that his port hasn’t moved. Right after his echo, he had an abdominal ultrasound to check for any new cancer or metastasis, and then after that he had labs and blood drawn, followed by an exam with the Doctor. Both tests came back with great results, his heart is still going strong, and there are NO signs of any new cancer!!! 🙌 His bloodwork was also the best it’s been since he was diagnosed last July! He’s got one more infusion on Monday, and then the following week he’ll have surgery to have his port removed! He’s so close to being back to “normal”! Once he gets his port removed, he won’t have to go back for any check ups or tests for a whole two months!
He was a pretty happy guy today, not as anxious as usual, so I was able to get a few smiles out of him 😉 thank you for all of your continued thoughts and prayers! 💙

Hey y’all! My apologies for not updating sooner! Time has been flying these past few months! Since
the last update, Kaleb had his last chemo treatment and a CT scan, showing basically everything normal and abnormal about his upper half. Yesterday, Kalebs Oncologist confirmed that his scan was clear, and there is no visible cancer anywhere! There is a spot (lesion) on his left kidney that they are going to watch as a precaution, but have no worries that it’s cancer related. He also has a small hiatal hernia that is not of major concern. Had he not had a scan, we never would have known about it. Everything else looked good! He is officially cancer free! 🧡 2-14-2022 🧡 He will still have to go back once a month for the next four months, to get his immunity infusion through his port. He should be able to have his port removed in about 5/6 months! 🙌 I’m not gonna lie, that excites me because I’m always so worried about him hitting it or it getting dislodged. Momxiety 😅 Thank you all so much for continually praying for and loving our boy! I firmly believe that prayer is what saves this family from all these trials, every single time. ❤️🙌

Guess who only has one more chemo treatment!!?!! He’ll continue to have monthly immunity infusions, but he’s so close to the finish line and ringing that bell! He did really good today, not many tears, and no throwing up! He will be nauseous and lethargic once this nausea medicine wears off though, so please pray for relief for him!
The Jimmy Everest Cancer Center generously blessed each of the four kids, with four Christmas gifts each, also! Mark and I appreciate every one of you, and want to thank all of you for all your prayers, support, and love for Kaleb! Have a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year! 🎄 🎉
