This week is Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week ❤️

Congenital Heart Defects affect nearly 1 in 100 babies born each year.

During CHD Awareness Week, we’re highlighting the importance of early detection, advanced treatment, and lifelong cardiac care. From diagnosis to recovery and beyond, our cardiac team is dedicated to helping patients thrive.

Together, we can raise awareness, support research, and improve outcomes for every heart.

Leaders from Salina Regional Health Center were recognized on the floor of the Kansas House of Representatives yesterday during Representative Dawn Wolf’s Point of Personal Privilege as a culminating celebration of the organization’s 30th anniversary. Representative Steve Howe joined the celebration as well!

Salina Regional Health Center was formed in 1995 with the consolidation of Asbury-Salina Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Regional Health Center. The effort was driven with the intent to develop a stronger regional health system to serve the needs of individuals across north central Kansas and beyond.

Over the years the organization has grown to include three affiliate critical access hospitals in Lindsborg, Concordia and Abilene and employ 93 physicians, 91 advanced practice providers, 637 nurses and more than 2,600 other health care workers who serve every day to take care of the region’s health needs.

This month’s pay it forward award goes to Robin Hanson! Ellen Bahre nominated Robin and said:

“Robin’s ornery smile caught my eye when I first came here. I love how well she takes care of patients and co-workers alike. Mr. Rogers said look for the helpers, and Robin is definitely a helper. I watch her walking down the patient hall with purpose and a smile on her face. I love watching her with the patients, and how she treats them with kindness and gentleness, and when they need a little push, she prods them to help themselves. I nominate Robin as the goat and want to thank all of the helpers that make Lindsborg great, and Robin is the greatest of all time. Thank you, Robin, for all you do, seen and unseen, and for making myself and others feel welcome.”

Thank you Robin for being the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time)!

🔥 It’s National Burn Awareness Week! 🔥
Burn risks are present in every home and workplace—from kitchens and offices to construction sites, fire stations, factories, farms and military settings.

The good news: burn prevention doesn’t require major changes. Small, consistent actions can greatly reduce injuries and help keep you, your family, and your coworkers safe.

Here are a few simple burn safety tips to get started:
• Keep hot items out of children’s reach
• Stay attentive when cooking
• Use protective equipment when working with heat or chemicals
• Test smoke alarms regularly
• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn

Our Story

"Partners caring for the health of the Smoky Valley communities" is the mission statement for Lindsborg Community Hospital, a licensed, 25 bed Critical Access Hospital. Lindsborg Community Hospital has consistently ranked in the 95-99th percentile in patient satisfaction surveys conducted by national firms Press Ganey & Associates and Health Stream.

The Lindsborg Community Hospital Association was incorporated by the State of Kansas on May 31, 1944. The address on the Articles of Incorporation is 203 North First, which is the location of Dr. William Holwerda’s privately owned community hospital, and is now a private residence. Application for a 501-c3 was made and received in 1946 and was required to pursue funding from the Ford Foundation and commence fund-raising. The construction began in 1948 and was completed in time to care for the first patients in May, 1949.
