Aftercare and home care are just as important as the massage itself.

Massage therapy can absolutely help reduce tension, improve mobility, and help the body relax — but true progress also comes from how you care for yourself between appointments. Your body cannot fully heal or recover if it is constantly being overworked, stressed, dehydrated, or neglected without giving anything back to it.

Think of massage as part of your wellness routine, not a one-time fix. The better you care for yourself after your session, the better and longer you will feel the benefits.

A few simple ways to support your body at home after massage:
• Drink plenty of water to help support hydration and recovery
• Stretch gently and consistently, especially areas that hold tension
• Prioritize quality sleep and rest
• Listen to your body and avoid overdoing activities when possible
• Use heat, warm baths, or gentle movement to help muscles stay relaxed
• Practice stress management and allow your nervous system time to calm down
• Maintain good posture and body mechanics throughout the day
• Keep up with regular massage appointments for continued progress

Helpful stretches to incorporate at home:
• Neck stretches for tension headaches and tight shoulders
• Child’s pose for the low back and hips
• Cat/cow stretches for spinal mobility
• Hamstring stretches for lower back support
• Chest opening stretches for posture and upper body tightness
• Hip flexor stretches for those who sit or stand for long periods

Healing and recovery take consistency, patience, and teamwork between therapist and client. Small daily habits truly make a huge difference over time.

Massage therapy is so much more than what many people assume.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, my work is not simply applying oil or lotion to the skin—it is a hands-on, therapeutic practice backed by education, training, and an understanding of the body as a whole.

Massage therapists study anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to better understand how muscles, tissues, and systems of the body work together. We are trained to recognize areas of tension, imbalance, and discomfort, and to apply specific techniques with intention and purpose.

Every session is tailored to the individual—not just for relaxation, but to support overall health and wellness.

Massage therapy can help:
• Reduce muscle tension and pain
• Improve circulation
• Support the nervous system and reduce stress
• Increase mobility and flexibility
• Aid in recovery and promote healing

It’s important to understand that what we do goes far beyond the surface. Our goal is to help the body function better, not just feel better in the moment.

Massage is an investment in your health—not a luxury, but a form of care that supports your body in ways that build over time with consistency.

📣UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT📣

I am so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you—thank you for keeping my schedule full and supporting my small business.

At this time, all of my available appointments are fully booked through the end of June. Since I am currently only working very part-time, availability is limited, and I am now booked unless there are any cancellations.

As a reminder, I will not be accepting any new clients in July as I prepare for maternity leave and take time to focus on my health, recovery, and my family during this special season.

After my leave, I will be easing back into my schedule slowly and thoughtfully. I will share updates and availability closer to that time once I have been cleared by my physician to return to work.

I truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this time. Being able to care for my family while also serving my clients means so much to me.

Thank you all again for your continued support 🤍

Consistency Over Quick Fixes

Massage therapy can be incredibly powerful for the body and mind—but it’s important to understand that one session isn’t a “fix everything” solution.

An hour on the table cannot undo years of built-up tension, stress, and patterns in the body. While you may feel relief after your session, true and lasting results take time, consistency, and effort.

Our bodies don’t get this way overnight… and they don’t heal overnight either.

Consistency means:
• Making massage a regular part of your wellness routine
• Listening to your body before pain becomes overwhelming
• Committing to long-term care instead of short-term relief

With regular massage, you may begin to notice:
• Reduced chronic pain and tension
• Improved mobility and flexibility
• Better sleep and stress management
• A greater overall sense of well-being

But your care doesn’t stop when you leave the table.

Aftercare and how you take care of yourself between sessions is just as important. Staying hydrated, stretching, managing stress, and being mindful of your daily habits all play a huge role in how your body responds and heals.

Massage is a partnership—between your therapist and your commitment to your own health.

Think of massage as maintenance, not just a repair.

Your body deserves ongoing care, not just attention when something hurts. Investing in consistent bodywork is investing in your health, your peace, and your well-being.

I’m always here to help you feel your very best

✨ A Friendly Reminder for Your Massage Appointment ✨

To give you the best experience possible, I kindly ask that all clients arrive 5–10 minutes early to their appointments. This allows time for any intake forms and a brief consultation so we can discuss your needs, problem areas, and goals for your session.

⏰ Arriving on time (or a little early!) ensures you receive your full session without feeling rushed—and helps me stay on schedule for every client.

💬 Communication is key. Please always share any injuries, medical conditions, or changes in your health. Some conditions can be contraindications for massage, and your safety is always my top priority. Open communication allows me to tailor each session specifically to you.

📅 Cancellation Policy Reminder:
I completely understand that life happens and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled or canceled. I kindly ask, whenever possible, for at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows me the opportunity to offer that time to another client in need.

As a small business, last-minute cancellations can be difficult to fill and directly impact my ability to support my family. Your communication and consideration truly mean so much and are deeply appreciated.

My goal is to help you feel your very best—every single visit. I am committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care and continually striving to give you the highest quality experience as your Licensed Massage Therapist.

Thank you for your understanding and for trusting me with your care 🤍

Between busy schedules, stress, and everyday life, it’s easy to ignore the little signals your body sends—tight shoulders, headaches, low back pain, constant fatigue.

But those “little” things add up.

Massage therapy isn’t just about
It’s about:
• Helping your nervous system slow down
• Releasing built-up tension
• Improving circulation and mobility
• Giving your body the reset it truly needs

When you make massage part of your routine—not just a once-in-a-while treat—you start to notice real changes in how you feel day to day.

✨ Less tension
✨ Better sleep
✨ More energy
✨ A calmer mind

You deserve to feel good in your body, not just get through the day.

📅 If it’s been a while since your last session, consider this your sign to book. Your body will thank you.

✨ Let’s talk about something real for a moment… ✨

There’s still a small misconception around what it means to be a Licensed Massage Therapist—and I think it’s important to clear that up.

Massage therapy is not a luxury or something “extra.” It is a professional, licensed practice focused on helping the body heal, recover, and function the way it’s meant to.

As an LMT, I’ve gone through training, education, and continue to learn so I can safely and effectively help my clients with things like:
• Chronic pain
• Muscle tension
• Stress and anxiety
• Injury recovery
• Nervous system regulation

This is a health-focused, client-centered service, and every session is done with professionalism, intention, and respect.

I also believe it’s important to say—
✨ A safe, comfortable environment is always my top priority. ✨

I take pride in creating a space where my clients feel respected, heard, and cared for from the moment they walk in.

For those who support small businesses like mine, trust the process, and understand the value of massage therapy—I appreciate you more than you know. 🤍

And for anyone who may not fully understand what we do, that’s okay too—education and transparency matter, and I’m always happy to share.

🌿 Maternity Leave Announcement

As many of you know, we are excitedly expecting our second baby girl this July 🤍

With that being said, I want to share an important update regarding my schedule at Blake Massage and Co. As I prepare for this new chapter, I will not be accepting any new clients during the month of July and will be taking maternity leave to focus on healing, recovery, and time with my family.

In the months leading up to July, I will be limiting my availability after June to prioritize my health, prepare for baby, and spend intentional time with my loved ones. During my leave, I am happy to refer clients to other trusted therapists to ensure you continue receiving quality care.

I am incredibly grateful for each of you and your continued support and understanding during such a meaningful milestone in my life. While I am passionate about my work, being a wife and mother will always be my number one priority, and I truly appreciate the grace you all have shown me.

Thank you for supporting my small business and my growing family—it means more than you know 🤍

•My appointments are currently booking into June•

Just a friendly reminder that Blake Massage and Co. is primarily a female-based practice.

At this time, I will only accept male clients who are:
• Referred by a trusted, established client or contact
or
• Able to bring a female guest to their appointment

This policy is in place to maintain a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for both myself and my clients. I appreciate your understanding and respect for these boundaries.
