Many Thanks to the Pilot Club of Harrisonburg and the Pilot International Founders Fund for their support.
The Pilot Club of Harrisonburg Received a Matching Grant
from Pilot International Founders Fund
The Pilot Club of Harrisonburg was able to support the Still Meadows Enrichment Center and Camp with a $5,000 donation earmarked to improve safety prior to the 2025 summer camp season. Still Meadows Enrichment Center offers Day Camps and a Therapeutic Horseback Riding program for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This grant funding was achieved by matching funds of $2,500 from Pilot International Founders Fund along with $2,500 from the local club. The funds were used to renovate the decking and side railings on the ramp to the Wheelchair Accessible Tree House. The treehouse is used for music, story time, lunches, crafts and more, all while providing amazing views of nature.
During the summer Still Meadows runs 3 weeks of camp, one each month. The camp reaches many local and NOVA residents and their caregivers. In addition to providing funds for the renovation, the Pilot members volunteer at the camp during the camp sessions, assisting in activities and providing a puppet show focused on safety.
The Pilot Club of Harrisonburg is focused on supporting the Harrisonburg community by activities that focus on brain health and the prevention of brain injury along with support of those with brain related injuries and disorders, and those who care for them. The members of the club believe that community engagement, hard work and good fun is a powerful force for change.
