Through dedication and perseverance, this young lady has come a long way in a year’s time. Last night she was awarded the Weatherford Christian School Defensive MVP award for her excellent pitching performances all season. She led the Lady Lions to a 7-3 district record and was named to the First Team All-DistrictTeam. Oh yeah, Kendal was also named to the TAPPS Academic All-State Softball Team! Quite a season! Congrats, girl!!

Here’s Madelynn (Weatherford Elite) working on posture and arm speed. We find that arm speed and posture (keeping the head behind the hips) go hand in hand. Both have also been shown to improve ball velocity. This young lady is so smart, makes adjustments quickly and has come so far so fast. I know that she will have more and more success as she continues to improve her mechanics.

I can honestly say that Audrey has improved every lesson that she has taken so far. She works so hard on her own between lessons. She has improved her arm speed significantly and is now working on an explosive backside. It’s all about hard work, pitchers!

Rhyan (Weatherford Christian School) has continued to work hard since starting her pitching journey in February. You can always count on her to do her “homework“ without fail. As a result, her improvement has been quick and very steady. Looking for great things to come on the mound for this young lady!

Emmy (Weatherford Christian School) showed me a new drill that I like for arm speed. First bounce a ball straight down overhead with all ball just a bit heavier than a regular ball, then pick up a regular softball and pitch it from one knee I’m going to start using it more and more. Thanks, Em!

Here’s Avery (Weatherford Christian School) during a pitching workout yesterday. Because her talents have been needed more as a catcher recently, her focus has not been on pitching, yet you can see that she is talented at this position as well. This young lady works hard and gives 100% to every rep whether she’s pitching or catching. Proud of your progress this season, Avery!

This young lady is the most recent addition to the SW Throwing Academy. Taylor (Brock 10u) is 9 years old and came in with nice mechanics, especially because she has not been pitching very long. A couple of “tweaks“ to her mechanics and she looked even better. She is an athlete and I look for great improvement quickly. Very much looking forward to her next lesson. 

Congrats to Alli for being chosen as the THSSB pitcher of the week! Not many athletes work harder than Gator. Very happy...
