Pausing is powerful.
Pausing isn’t just for the difficult moments.
It’s for your daily routine and the most joyous times.
Pausing is where you get to truly FEEL what’s happening for you
and to truly be alive is to feel a full spectrum of emotions.
Give yourself permission to stop and notice.

Here’s a challenge for you: make something that you would usually buy premade… from scratch this week!
Let me know what you’re gonna make ⤵️
If you need inspiration….you’ll never buy canned biscuits again after making these!
The kids wanted biscuits with dinner! Why not?
These took me ~10 mins of prep and 15 in the oven!
I cut them small so that when the kids ask for seconds,
even thirds, I can say yes 😜
There’s leftovers for the morning to have with their breakfast.
They reheat well! Just pop ‘em the oven for a few minutes.
There’s some typos in the carousel. I see them.
A great chance to show my kids why we follow the steps of the writing process
I am not here to be perfect ok 😂😜
Here’s the recipe:
Preheat the oven to 450
Combine 2 cups of flour with 1 tablespoon of baking powder and a dash of salt in a bowl.
Add in 3/4 cup milk and mix with a baking spatula.
Shred in 1 stick of cold butter!
Use the spatula to mix until you can’t, then use your hands!
Move the dough onto a floured surface and press it into a rectangle. Fold it in half and press it out again.
Repeat this step 3-4 times.
Shape your biscuits + transfer them to a prepared baking sheet.
Brush with milk.
Bake for ~15 mins or until golden on top!

Chelsey LaFleur, the Balanced Butterfly Blogger, is a mother and wife living in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She is passionately creating beauty and balance in her life through creative inspiration and mindful choices. Each day is a new opportunity to find balance and practice mindfulness.
She is an expert in floral design and social media marketing. She started her own business in 2017 and as it blossomed into a beautiful brand, it outgrew her capabilities as a new Mother and wife. She was spreading herself too thin. She said farewell to her Wood Flower Business after 3 successful years, to begin a new journey that aligned with the life she was creating for herself and her family. She would prefer to use Floral Design as a creative outlet, something she can enjoy.
She wrestled with the idea of letting go of the brand she poured her heart into for years, the small business her family and friends supported fully and enthusiastically. She faced the fear of new beginnings and the potential of letting people down, and decided that it was worth it.
She wanted the freedom to start fresh, to love her work again. As a creative person, the desire for fluidity was strong and Chelsey felt trapped by the rigid demands of her selected niche. Creative inspiration dwindled, quality suffered, and so did her mental health.
She decided it was time. Step back, slow down. Get grounded, find Balance.
As she took the time to slow down and let the momentum of her busy business come to a halt, she found more time to nourish her being. With nourishment came clarity – She decided that, maybe, this cage was really just a cocoon all along.
Valuable lessons were learned about business, herself, family, friends and life.
She cracked open the cocoon when the time was right.
And so, the Balanced Butterfly Blog was born, she was ready to soar.
Chelsey has an eye for interior design and creating harmony within the home through colors, patterns, and textures. Her creativity is fluid and leaks into all parts of her life. She loves to write, design, cook, bake, dress, dance, and play creatively.
Chelsey loves all things pink and sparkly. If sunset was a color, it would be her second favorite. She enjoys live music and being by the water when the sun is shining. She feels a strong connection with animals and nature. The ocean is her happy place, especially with an ice cream cone in hand. She’s an avid yogi who strives to take her practice beyond the mat with mindfulness and balance. She values her family and friendships greatly, and is humbled with gratitude to be loved by such beautifully hearted people.
Chelsey is on a mission to inspire others to find balance and beauty in their own lives through inspiration, creative content, and quality products that breathe light into your soul as you scroll.
Know that when you shop with or support Chelsey LaFleur and the Balanced Butterfly Blog you’re sparking joy in her life. Her intention is to bring joy to you, too.
