April is Stress Awareness Month, and stress does not disappear with age. For many older adults, stress comes from life changes, health concerns, caregiving responsibilities, and feeling less connected than before. Over time, stress can affect mood, energy, and overall well-being.

April is Occupational Therapy Month! Occupational Therapists evaluate patients to understand how illness, injury, or disability impacts their ability to perform essential tasks like dressing, bathing, eating, or returning to work. OTs then custom-design interventions, from adaptive equipment recommendations and energy conservation strategies to therapeutic exercises and cognitive retraining, all aimed at maximizing independence and preventing re-hospitalization. Janae Hughes also assists patients on an outpatient basis, and has added lymphedema therapy and soon pelvic floor therapy as services to our community as well.

Happy Easter from all of us at CHI Lisbon Health. As signs of spring begin to emerge, we are reminded of the renewal and new life taking shape all around us. Easter reflects this same sense of restoration and hope through the resurrection of Jesus, offering a reminder that even in difficult moments, renewal is possible.

As we continue to grow as a ministry, this season invites reflection on how we care for and support our communities, with particular attention to those who need it most. Guided by our mission, we remain committed to nurturing the well-being of the communities we serve.

What a day! CHI Lisbon Hospital and many other community partners held a SCRUBS camp today at the Expo Center in partnership with the ND Center for Rural Health.

7th and 8th graders from Lisbon and Enderlin spent the day moving through different hands on stations learning about healthcare careers including nursing, veterinary science, optometry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, emergency medicine/Nurse Practitioner, pharmacy, EMT/paramedics, public health, chiropractic care and more!
