Our interns from Project SEARCH at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital took a day away from their internship placements to focus on professional development at the People’s Resource Center Career Fair hosted at the Wheaton Public Library.

They explored employer booths, gathered employment information, attended a professional communication workshop, received professional headshots, and practiced showing up dressed for success.

This was a great reminder that investing time in professional growth is just as important as hands-on experience.

Our Packing Empowerment Camp is back and stronger than ever — now hosted in Lisle! 🎉

This 8-week camp provides hands-on training, job shadowing, and facility tours with local manufacturers, helping participants build real-world skills and explore careers in manufacturing.

🎉 Internship 3 Begins at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital! 🎉

This week marks the start of the third and final internship for the Project SEARCH Class of 2026 at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital! Our interns are feeling confident and excited as they begin this last rotation, gaining new skills and hands-on experience in a professional healthcare environment.

During class, the interns shared advice for future interns just starting their journey—just like they once were. It has been amazing to watch them grow, not only by learning workplace skills, but also by building the confidence they’ll carry into future employment.

Good luck, interns! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all you accomplish in this final rotation at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. 👏

A huge shout-out to our Project SEARCH Delnor intern, Grace, who has officially secured employment! After impressing with her infectious personality during her interview, she was hired on the spot at The Landings as a server. 🍽️

✨ Real-World Practice = Real-World Confidence! ✨

Our Inspired by Ability students recently took part in mock interviews during class, and they did an incredible job! 👏

Students reviewed real job descriptions and were interviewed by actual employers to create an authentic interview experience. From practicing responses to common questions to demonstrating their skills and professionalism, this hands-on opportunity gave them a true glimpse into what to expect in the workforce.

After each interview, students received thoughtful feedback on their strengths and areas for growth, helping them continue to build confidence and prepare for future employment opportunities.

A big THANK YOU to our BAC members and PAEP staff for volunteering your time and investing in our students’ success. Your support makes experiences like this possible! 💙
