Here we go again—Zander soaring even higher than last year!!
Yesterday, March 19, 2026, my heart was so full I could hardly find the words.
My son, Zander, broke his school’s ALL-TIME high jump record, clearing an incredible 6’8.25”! I wasn’t there in person—I was traveling back from abroad—but I was told the entire stadium rose to their feet, cheering for him. Just picturing that moment brings tears to my eyes.
At only 17 years old (he just turned 17 on February 9th) and standing 6’3”, he is now ranked #6 in the state of Illinois and #57 in the entire USA. It still feels unreal.
But what makes me proudest isn’t just how high he jumps—it’s the young man he’s becoming: focused, humble, and determined. Even with universities already reaching out, I reminded him to stay grounded—keep prioritizing his education, his discipline, and his passion. The right doors will open at the right time.
He told me his next goal is 6’10”… and that he wants me there watching when he clears it. And next time, I will be there, my love. No matter what. 😊
Zander, you make me proud beyond words. Keep rising, keep believing, and never forget how deeply you are loved. 💙
