About Dr. Nelson Mar He opened his first solo practice in July of 2002 in Litchfield Park and after four years outgrew the first facility.

Dr. Mar is a 1995 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry (Go Huskers!) and has been in the West Valley area for more than 14 years. He opened a brand new, state of the art, office in November of 2006. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Family Dentistry, American Association of Sports Dentistry, and received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July of 2002. He is actively pursuing his Mastership in the Academy. He was awarded this designation after five years of continuous membership and 500 hours of continuing education courses on the latest advances in dentistry. Dr. Mar enjoys fishing, snorkeling, running, and would have been a marine biologist if he had not found dentistry as a career, which is reflected in the decor of his new office. He is also serving the community by visiting schools to educate children, providing public service information about dental care, and supported dental missions to developing countries, such as Hondura

Our Story

Dr. Nelson Mar is a 1995 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry and was selected for an AEGD residency at OUHSC’s dental college in Oklahoma City, OK. He previously accepted a fellowship in geriatric dentistry in the University of Texas at San Antonio and has been in the West Valley for more than 22 years.

He opened his first practice in July of 2002 in Litchfield Park and after four years outgrew the first facility. He opened a newer, state of the art office in November of 2006. He has been a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Family Dentistry, American Association of Sports Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July of 2002.

Dr. Mar enjoys fishing, snorkeling, running, and raising his two young sons and would have enjoyed being a marine biologist if he had not found dentistry as a career. His marine interests are still reflected in the decor of his office! He is also serving the community by visiting local schools to educate children and adults, as well as writing articles and providing public service information about dental care in the local newspapers, as well as appearing on Channels 3 and 12 supporting our troops in his office.
