Managing Your Diabetes Day-to-Day

Follow these 7 steps to enjoy a healthy life with diabetes!

✅ Eat balanced, nutrient-dense meals focused on whole grains, fruits, vegetables and nuts
✅ Stay active! Aim for 150 minutes of physical activity a week or incorporate small active moments in your daily routine like taking the stairs!
✅ Take insulin or medication as directed if prescribed
✅ Check your blood sugar regularly
✅ Address your stress. Take time for yourself and look for support!
✅ Get regular check-ups!
✅ Be aware of signs of depression, your care team can refer you for support if you need it.

¡Sigue estos 7 pasos para disfrutar de una vida saludable con diabetes!

✅ Come comidas balanceadas y nutritivas, enfocadas en granos enteros, frutas, verduras y nueces.
✅ ¡Mantente activo! Intenta hacer 150 minutos de actividad física por semana o incorpora pequeños momentos activos en tu rutina diaria, como usar las escaleras.

Did you know 🤔1 in 10 babies are born preterm in the United States?

Luckily, numerous studies show that participation in is associated with improved birth outcomes, including higher birth weight, lower likelihood of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, and lower Medicaid costs for newborns and birthing parents.

You can get started with WIC as soon as you know that you’re pregnant, and we’ll be here for you throughout your pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting journey!

Daylight Saving Time Tips for Families

It’s almost time to “fall back”! ⏰ Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before bed on Saturday, November 2nd.

For families with little ones, that extra hour can sometimes mean early wake-ups and sleepy mornings. Here are a few simple ways to make the time change easier:
🌙 Start adjusting early – shift bedtime and wake-up times by 10–15 minutes a few days ahead.
🛏️ Keep routines consistent – same bedtime rituals help kids know it’s time to wind down.
☀️ Get morning sunlight – it helps reset everyone’s internal clock.
😴 Be patient – it may take a few days for sleep to even out again (for kids and parents!).
