This comes with the obvious disclaimer that not all stimming is stress-related. Sometimes it helps us focus, and sometimes it's just fun.
But the point remains- if you take away stimming from a stressed child, you end up with a child who's *even more* stressed because they have one less method to tell you how they feel. -Chris

I often say to people that "We need to advocate for reliable autism resources across the lifespan."

The reason I mention 'lifespan' is that most publically funded services end when autistic students age out of school. It's important I believe to prioritize this as the popular image of autism often revolves around children (even though early intervention is the key). When we talk about the autism community we can't forget autistic adults.
