Those of us living in Pennsylvania got a disturbing message today. The call system that handles 911 went down, and may or may not be available in all areas. While a list of numbers was quickly provided for back up until they are able to fix whatever went wrong. This dose call into sharp contrast, having the skills to be your own 911. With proper training, you can be your own first responder for most things that come down line. We can provide training in many different areas, ranging from first aid to basic fi****ms handling and safety. This also goes for those of us getting ready for the day we send our kids off to college or trade school far from home. A self defense class can make a big difference for them and for parents to have some peace of mind.

With our current weather a lot of us work outside, not just in our line of work but many others as well. Heat related injuries are far more common than people think. With the current heat wave it can be fatal. Below is a good measure for personal use. Other things to keep in mind, drinking only water isn't enough, you will need more than just water throughout the day, products like liquid IV, Gatorade or Poweraid are helpful but you need to drink 1:1 ratio of sports drink to water to have them be the most effective. And while it pains us to say so, things like coffee and energy drinks are not advisable, during the hottest times of the day. If you're not watching yourself you can't be effective in service to others.
