This is definitely something I need to work on… I’m giving myself a 7/10 on this one - I get the sleep most nights but I don’t refrain from screens etc before bed. How would you rate yourself?

Sleep is the master dial of health.

When it’s dysregulated, disrupted, or inconsistent it has MASSIVE negative EFFECTS on:

Blood sugar
Hormones
Libido
Gut health
Circadian rhythms
Ability to heal
Cognitive function
Energy
Hunger cues

Getting less than 7 hours increases

Inflammation
Weight gain
Aggravates things like pms, sugar cravings, anxiety, depression, and fatigue

There is not ONE SYSTEM that it doesn’t have an influence on.

Please NO

Television
iPads
Phones
Screens of any kind
No social media
YouTube
Google searches
No Lights - like LD lights or hall lights or night lights (if your kids use them to fall asleep unplug when they are out😴)
No reading
Writing
Eating
Drinking

This 👆🏻 may sound harsh but it’s THAT important.

Sleep is when the body heals, repairs, restores, detoxes and the mind rests.

Great sleep hygiene is 7-9 hours in total darkness with roughly 65 degrees.
Taking a bath or sauna with lavender before bed is a great way to lower cortisol.
Taking a magnesium supplement or something like before bed is essential.
Red light therapy is also a great way to wind down. You can use red light for your kiddos nightlight too.
No screens 2 hours before sleep.
No food 3 hours before sleep.

S*x. Meditation. Sleep. In that order 😉

If Red dye #40 kills a plant, what do you think it’s doing to our cells?

Below is a picture of a simple experiment of how different food coloring changes the color of the celery plant.

Well, take notice of the red dye #40...it KILLED the celery plant in just a day!

Red dye #40 is in a lot of candy and processed foods, Gatorade, etc. 🤔 and it’s not like the other two are without effect, trust me. Just removing foods with artificial colorings/dyes could substantially change your child behavior, mood, hyperactivity, etc.

If you are a parent with a kiddo with ASD this study shows that you are definitely not alone if your little one has tummy troubles. If you are a therapist working with autistic kiddos this study shows you need to pay attention to tummy troubles if you want to help with their occupations.

Children with autism are at an increased risk for inflammatory bowel disease, according to a large survey of electronic medical records.

I have two research projects running.... that I'm looking for participants for:
I'm looking for about 5-7 children with autism who are 4-8 years old that have trouble with toileting and are picky eaters (less than 20 foods consistently). Child should have interoception issues. participants must eat the majority of their food by mouth (minimal feeding tube use) and they must be currently receiving OT. Child and parent need to be available on zoom Tuesdays from 7-8p,m EST in sept./oct.... This study will provide weekly interoception and functional nutrition coaching to see if toileting improves.
Looking for a few children who are Picky eaters (less than 20 foods) that have trouble with sleep and emotional regulation. A child in this study must be 4-8, but does not need to be seen by an OT currently. This study will provide functional nutrition and calming strategies to see if sleep and emotional regulation improve. Timing is flexible on this one, but need to begin asap in September.

Constipation Reason #2..... Food sensitivities ...... Gluten (protein found in bread and flour) and Casein (protein food cheese and other some other dairy foods) are the top two sensitivities that cause constipation......

How do you know if they are the trouble? Remove them for a few days and see if the problem goes away! Don't know where to start in removing them?????? Book at quick free consult with me and I'll help you!

The are 4 main causes for constipation..... the #1 --- dehydration! You must be hydrated to p**p........ how much water is enough? Half your body weight in ounces! Weigh 100 pounds, drink 50 ounces - 50 ounces without chemicals! Need flavoring:
1. add fruit to the water - lemons, oranges, berries, limes - let the fruit sit in the water in the fridge

This one is making headlines - but truth is there are so many more!!!!!!
😬 Skittle candies contain a "known toxin" that makes them "unfit for human consumption" according to a class-action lawsuit filed against Mars Inc.​​​​​​​​

It alleges that the company uses a toxic called titanium dioxide. Thames claims that people who eat Skittles are at a "heightened risk of a host of health effects for which they were unaware stemming from genotoxicity – the ability of a chemical substance to change DNA," according to The Guardian.​​​​​​​​

Thames' lawsuit claims that Mars Inc has known about the alleged risks that are related to titanium dioxide.​​​​​​​​

In 2021, the EFSA announced that “titanium dioxide can no longer be considered safe as a food additive." The lawsuit claims that Skittles are still being made with this toxic chemical.​​​​​​​​
