Follow this link: https://vimeo.com/user22666148 to practice with me online. Known for her “Be Your Own Bird” brand of yoga, Joyce Courtney, makes yoga and meditation accessible to everyone. Joyce says, “Often people avoid yoga because they think they are not flexible enough. Yoga Bird (and yoga in general) is NOT about being flexible! My Yoga Bird practices are specifically designed for those in their second half of life. My emphasis is on appropriate movement, alignment and poses that help ease the symptoms of age-related issues such as joint pain, muscle weakness and overall stiffness. Yoga Bird is helpful to EVERYONE and especially for those of us who have begun to feel the effects of “maturity.” I began practicing yoga when I was 45 and it has improved my life in countless ways. The word yoga means union. I love bringing it all together to improve peoples’ health and happiness!”
Joyce is happy living in the rolling hills of Lancaster County, PA with her musician husband, Steven, at stevencourtney.com. They have two grown children.
