Joyce Robellard

Mohawk, New York

Joyce Marie Robellard was born February 15, 1929, as Joyce Marie Shipengrover. She was reunited with her late husband Jerry on April 17, 2026.

She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Robellard on May 19, 1951, in Niagara Falls sharing many loving years together until his passing in 2021. They celebrated an amazing 70 years of marriage. Joyce was a longtime resident of Mohawk, NY. Growing up, she graduated from Herkimer High School. She worked in retail at Hollands & Mungers. Later on she worked at Nichols, and Pharmhouse, and spent some time working as a Phone Operator.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Florence Shipengrover; her beloved husband, Jerry; and her two sons, Michael and Bob.

Joyce was a caring and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family. She found great joy in the time they shared together, whether during everyday moments or special occasions. She enjoyed bowling in a league with friends and family and continued her weekly tradition of bowling in Ilion every Tuesday. Joyce also loved simple pleasures—playing games, relaxing on her front porch with Jerry and her family, and watching her favorite shows, including The Price Is Right and Jeopardy!

Family was at the center of Joyce’s life. She looked forward to family dinners, holidays, and vacations to Disneyworld, and especially treasured the annual family reunions first held at Glimmerglass State Park and later at Verona Beach State Park. Joyce was one of the most generous, thoughtful, and remarkable women. She always strived to do right by her family and was ready to offer help, no matter how big or small. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was truly contagious—when Joyce smiled, everyone around her couldn’t help but smile too. Through both good times and difficult moments, Joyce was a steady source of strength and love for her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and the countless ways she gave to others. She was always there with a helping hand for her children and grandchildren and anyone in need.

She is survived by her three children: Carol Beach of Herkimer, David and Mary Robellard of Ilion, and Steve Robellard of Mohawk. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Derek and Megan Beach of Ilion; Kyle and Jordyn Beach of Mohawk; Danielle and Josh Mayton of Danube; James Robellard and Eric Robellard of Ilion; Jennifer Robellard of Mohawk; Jeremy Robellard of Herkimer; and Ryan Robellard of Herkimer. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the doctors and nurses at Cooperstown Hospital.

There will be a celebration of life, to celebrate Joyce and Jerry at the family's convenience.

Wayne R. "Bobby" Johnson

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Wayne Johnson, known to most as “Bobby,” a man whose laughter, humor, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Wayne passed away after a sudden medical event, spending his final week in the hospital surrounded by an incredible support system. Throughout that week, a steady stream of loved ones filled his room — a powerful reflection of the countless lives he touched and the relationships he built over the years.

Wayne was born to Edward and Norma Johnson on August 4, 1952, and passed away March 14, 2026, at the age of 73. He finished at Mohawk High School in 1971. Wayne married Debra Kinney on May 8, 1982, and together they had three children. Though their marriage later ended, their friendship strengthened.

Wayne was known for his wit, numerous jokes, and his ability to make people laugh when they needed it most. If there was a joke to be told — even an inappropriate one — Wayne was usually the one telling it. His humor and playful personality were a constant source of smiles for those around him. Beyond the laughter, Wayne was someone who showed up when people needed him, always ready to lend a hand.

Wayne loved the outdoors and spent much of his life camping, fishing and enjoying rodeos. More than anything in the world, Wayne loved being a grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he found great happiness in spending time with them, sharing laughs, telling stories, and watching them grow.

Wayne enjoyed taking car rides to nowhere in particular, visiting his daughter in the Adirondacks, working on cars with his son, and of course driving his grandchildren anywhere they asked to go. Time spent with his family and the simple moments together were what meant the most to him.

Wayne spent decades volunteering at the Herkimer County Fair, his time there meant a great deal to him. He wasn't just there for the week of the fair he helped with event winter, spring, summer and fall. While there he met people he considered family and built friendships that lasted a lifetime. During the fair he could always be found leading kiddie events and cheering each and every one on even if his voice was gone.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Norma Johnson; his father-in-law, Paul Kinney; his infant son, Steven; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Rose Johnson; and his son-in-law, Daniel Hitchcock.

Wayne is survived by his former wife of over 30 years and best friend, Debbie Johnson; his daughter Heidi Hitchcock (Matthew Cahill) and their children Addison, Courtney, Natalie, Mason, Liam, Henry, and Ty; and his son Michael Johnson (Tiffany Johnson) and their children Aaliyah, Lacee, Desiree, Damien, Leona, and Aurora. He is also survived by his chosen sons Ryan Hilts and Chris Roberts, His sister Sharon, many sisters-in-laws, many very close nieces and nephews, his “Prindle Family”, as well as too many close friends to list — because once you became his friend, he loved you like family.

Wayne will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and his ability to bring people together. His stories, laughter, and love for his family — especially his grandchildren — will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Though he may be gone from our sight, the laughter Bobby shared, the love he gave, and the memories he created will continue to echo through the lives of his family and grandchildren for generations to come. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Herkimer County fairgrounds June 13th starting at 2:00pm.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, located at 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls, NY. Online condolences can be left at www.mohawkvalleyfunerals.com.
