Today’s Spotlight is on Kathy Ellis, Accounts Payable Coordinator. Kathy is celebrating 35 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Jim Vielkind, VP of Finance and Jennifer Brelinsky, Finance Analyst, had to say about Kathy:

“Kathy Began her career at Dane S Green in Dolgeville. One of her roles was to plan sales using historical information to predict future footwear sales. As Daniel S Green transitioned to a new company structure, Kathy joined Little Falls Hospital 35 years ago, as an assistant in our Patient Access / Switchboard department. Kathy’s distinct messaging and professional voice mannerisms have provided numerous callers with instruction and channeling of callers to staff at the appropriate departments. Kathy moved her interest to finance where she was our Skilled Nursing Facility billing specialist and then to her current role in Accounts Payable. In Accounts Payable, Kathy handles the flow of invoices, check production runs. In last several years with the implementation of One Bassett financial system, Kathy enjoys working amongst her peers at Bassett Healthcare Network. Kathy has many hobbies including Dolgeville sports, Sports in general, Games of chance, Family events, and many others.”

Congratulations and thank you Kathy for your 35 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Spotlight is on Ken Stevens, Director Of Environmental Services. Ken is celebrating 30 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what John Dobrovolc, Director of Facilities, had to say about Ken:

“Wow how the times have changed! When Ken started, we had a coffee shop at the Hospital, smoking was allowed and gas was $1.65/gallon! Something that hasn’t changed is Ken’s dedication and pride in his role. He always keeps the hospital clean and looking great! He decorates for holidays, and plants flowers seasonally to keep the grounds looking beautiful. Ken always volunteers to help with Hospital events, Canal Days, Violet Festival, parades. At Hospital summer picnics Ken would always help cook and set up lawn games for employees to enjoy.

One word of caution about Ken, if there is a raffle involved, Ken is going to win! He has always had the luck of the draw!

Ken is a great guy to work with!”

Congratulations and thank you Ken for your 30 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Spotlight is on Scott Weaver, Imaging Scheduler II. Scott is celebrating 30 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Melissa Yanney, Medical Imaging Supervisor had to say about Scott:

“There is so much more to Scott Weaver than the job he was hired to do. We do not thank him enough for always lending a helping hand. Whether it is at work or out of work, Scott is someone we can always count on. Scott brings a smile and positive attitude to everyone on our team, and it always boosts our spirits when we need it most. Scott is most admirable for his selfless acts of kindness and always doing what’s right for our patients and his fellow coworkers.

I knew when asked to write a few words in recognition of Scott, Joe Serrano was the man for the job. In typical Joe fashion here is what he had to say, “Scott is like Radar from MASH. Whenever the department would run out of something, it would magically appear to carry us over. I call him the Mayor as he knows everyone that walks through the door.”

Congratulations on achieving your 30 year anniversary here at LFH. We are grateful for your dedication to your community.”

Congratulations and thank you Scott for your 30 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Deb Richards, Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. Deb is celebrating 40 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Jean Guiney, Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department, had to say about Deb:

“The year was 1980. Ronald Reagan was elected president. The Miracle on ice happened; USA defeats Russia at the Olympics. John Lennon was killed, Colonel Sanders died. A loaf of bread was $.50 cents, a tank of gas was $1.13 and Deb Richards started her nursing career here at LFH.

Deb is the epitome of excellence. She is what every young nurse should strive to be. Her nursing skills are outstanding, and her bedside empathy and compassion are what we should all hope to have. She puts her patients first and foremost. Deb is constantly doing what is in their best interest.

An ICU nurse at heart, Deb transitioned to the Emergency Department and in Deb fashion, adjusted and became an excellent ED nurse. Her critical thinking and skills are above most.
Deb has this calm, level headed approach to every situation. Every young nurse should get the chance to learn from Deb and all she has to offer. We all could learn from Deb, on what it is to be an excellent Registered Nurse, and have a phenomenal Nursing Career.”

Congratulations and thank you Deb for your 40 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Becky Estey, Licensed Practical Nurse at the Dolgeville Primary Care Clinic. Becky is celebrating 40 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Heidi Camardello, Director of Nursing, had to say about Becky:

“Becky started her career at LFH as an LPN on a Med-Surg floor which I believe was the old 3 West. She went to the clinic in 1998. Becky certainly knows all the “ins” and “outs” of ambulatory nursing and adds a stable presence to the clinic environment. She oversees the state vaccination program and is versed in the requirements related to that program. She is a true patient advocate and holds herself to a high level of practice.

I do have to tease her a little about her fear of the “Dolgeville Road” in the winter. After all these years she still is not accustomed to the drive!

Keep up the great work Becky!”

Congratulations and thank you Becky for your 40 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Heidi Camardello, Director of Nursing, had to say about Cathy:

“Cathy worked at the Hospital prior to her transition to clinic nursing. She was an LPN on the 3rd floor East Wing. She started in the clinic environment for LFH in 2006 and has worked in both Newport and Dolgeville. She is a dedicated and steadfast worker. Cathy tends to come in and attend to her work spending her time and energy on patient care. She has a good bedside manner and is willing to assist others as needed.

Cathy grew up in the area and she and her husband and family also operate a local business, Zipp’s Hardware. She is vested in the community and we are fortunate to have her on our team!”

Congratulations and thank you Cathy for your 35 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Leann Weaver, Health Center Referral Coordinator at the Dolgeville Primary Care Clinic. Leann is celebrating 30 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Heidi Camardello, Director of Nursing, had to say about Leann:

“Leann is a true asset to the clinic. She grew up in Dolgeville and is genuinely vested in the community and the patients that are served by the Dolgeville Primary Care Clinic. She is often the first person they see when they come in and the last person they see on their way out. She greets everyone with a smile and is courteous and kind. She also is the unofficial historian of the clinic. Her dedication is truly outstanding and we are fortunate to have her in her position. Thanks for all you have done and continue to do Leann!”

Congratulations and thank you Leann for your 30 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!

Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Charlene Macri, Nurse Practitioner. Charlene is celebrating 30 years with Little Falls Hospital!

Here is what Heidi Camardello, Director of Nursing, had to say about Charlene:

“Charlene started as a nurse at Little Falls Hospital. She was Dr. K Sharma’s favorite peds nurse. She went on to be the Nurse Manager and then became a Nurse Practitioner with a pediatric focus.

Char’s patients love her calm demeanor and attentive style. Even though she was supposed to see patients on an urgent care basis, many patients loved her so much they would try to see her as their primary medical care.

She is a workaholic, caring and very dedicated.”

Congratulations and thank you Charlene for your 30 years of dedicated service and loyalty to Little Falls Hospital!
