Congress has released bipartisan legislation that includes critical funding for Community Health Centers and the 52 million patients who rely on them.

What’s included:
✔️ $4.6B in base CHC funding for FY 2026
✔️ Funding for the National Health Service Corps and Teaching Health Centers
✔️ Extension of telehealth flexibilities through 2027

🚨 Call Congress to Vote Yes on Increased CHC Funding by January 30 🚨

Lawmakers are racing toward the January 30 funding deadline, and Community Health Centers are fortunate that bipartisan leaders have listened to our calls for action. Earlier today, congressional leaders released bipartisan legislation that includes critical investments to support Community Health Centers and the 52 million patients who rely on them for care. NACHC appreciates the work of bipartisan Congressional leaders to reach this important legislation and urges passage as soon as possible.

The proposal includes:
✔️ $4.6 billion in base funding for Community Health Centers in FY 2026
✔️ $350 million for the National Health Service Corps and $225 million for Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education, with future increases planned
✔️ An extension of telehealth flexibilities through 2027

Now, Congress must act, and the time is now to remind them how critical this funding will be for health centers and their patients. Community Health Centers need funding certainty to continue delivering high-quality, affordable care, address workforce shortages, and ensure access for patients nationwide.

Community Health Centers are at a critical moment.

Congress must act before the January 30 deadline to deliver a long-term, bipartisan funding solution for Community Health Centers (CHCs). Without it, access to primary care for millions of people nationwide is at risk.

At the same time, there is a real opportunity here. With sustained, expanded funding, CHCs have the potential to triple their reach nationwide, strengthening primary care, improving health outcomes, and reducing long-term system costs.

This is one of the most effective investments Congress can make in community-based care.

We’re grateful that Congressman Jake Auchincloss will join the National Association of Community Health Centers at the 2026 Policy & Issues Forum, helping advance the national conversation on strengthening and expanding primary care for millions nationwide.
