LRBNAA
Founded March 1980, the Little Rock Black Nurses Association of Arkansas (LRBNAA), Inc. was originally known as the Little Rock Black Nurses Association Inc. Organized by nurses who wanted to make a difference, Mrs. Jacquelyn Jones-Gibson, founder and Mrs. Carolyn Smedley, co-founder, both felt that Little Rock had enough Black nurses to unite and assemble their expertise and resources to alleviate the disparity of health problems found within Black communities.
LRBNAA is a non-profit organization and an active chapter of the National Black Nurses Association. It is the philosophy of LRBNAA that health care delivery to all Americans should be an orderly process, therefore, we are established to investigate and define the health care needs of Blacks and other minorities of Arkansas.
