Hey, friends!

Many of you know how much I care about honoring and supporting senior adults. One of my favorite organizations in Arkansas, Alzheimer's Arkansas, shares that same passion. Every summer, they host the H2O Fun Run to raise funds for their incredible mission of supporting caregivers.

Not only is it for an amazing cause, but they also literally keep you cool—runners get sprayed with Super Soakers along the way (if you’re up for it). Trust me, this feels amazing in July!

Hi, friends! 🎶 I’m thinking about hosting an informal (and hopefully fun!) Facebook Live or Zoom session for anyone interested in learning more about music therapy with senior adults. This is a field that’s not widely known in many parts of the country, but it’s something truly close to my heart. I truly believe this work is my calling.

I currently have a few music therapy openings in my schedule, and I wanted to offer families of senior adults with Parkinson’s, dementia, depression/anxiety, and other conditions a chance to learn more about how this therapy can benefit their loved ones—at no cost.

Now, I have a couple of questions for you all:

1. Do you think this would be helpful?

2. When would be the best time to schedule it?
I’d love to know when adult children of
seniors might be most available.

Completely wild experience this morning (anonymizing for obvious reasons).

I have a Music Therapy client who had a stroke after surgery. While working with them this morning, for the first time in over a month under any circumstances, they opened their eyes and answered three different yes/no questions by nodding or shaking their head. They were also tapping their feet. I am absolutely awestruck and so grateful.

The next time imposter syndrome hits, I’m going to call on this memory. I LOVE MY JOB!!
