At Innovative Spine Rehab, we use a variety of techniques to reduce inflammation and pain, and restore movement to our patients. Here are some of the techniques we utilize to help our patients feel and move better: Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that may help relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. That changes the force and position of the spine. The Schroth Method is a physical therapy approach to scoliosis treatment. It is based on exercises tailored to each patient's spine curvature. Schroth exercises may benefit patients of all ages, regardless of the severity of scoliosis. Laser Therapy helps reduce inflammation allowing the healing process to begin. In the case of acute injury, laser therapy helps restore the body to normal function quicker. With chronic conditions, laser therapy is used most often to help combat persistent pain and inflammation. Med-X Treatment is a tool specifically designed to help strengthen your muscles of the low back and neck responsible for stabilizing the joints. Strain/Counterstrain is a manual therapy technique, meaning clinicians use only their hands for treatment of muscle and joint pain. It uses passive body positioning of hypertonic (spasmed) muscles and dysfunctional joints toward positions of comfort or tissue ease that compress or shorten the offending muscle. Mulligan Mobilization & Movement is a manual therapy approach utilized by health care practitioners specializing in the care of patients with musculoskeletal pain. Mulligan practitioners seek to improve patient's movement with the application of pain free hands on techniques. McKenzie mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT) The McKenzie method is a classification system and a classification-based treatment for patients with low back pain. The prevention step consists of educating and encouraging the patient to exercise regularly and self-care. Pelvic Mobilization & Stabilization training is an active form of physical therapy designed to strengthen muscles to support the spine and help prevent lower back pain. Through a regimen of exercises prescribed by a physical therapist, the patient is trained to find and maintain his/her "neutral spine" position. ART—Active Release Technique treats your body's soft tissue by combining manipulation and movement. The technique has been around for more than 30 years. ART entails identifying, isolating, and targeting the affected area to break up scar tissue. Dry Needling is a technique physical therapists use (where allowed by state law) for the treatment of pain and movement impairments. The technique uses a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle.
