We are in search of a living kidney donor for my 4 year old son, Skyler.

It’s been a while since I updated. Sky is doing incredible.
This was by far the hardest secret I ever had to keep from my kids. lol
Skylers wish is being granted, and we’re going to Disney world next weekend for a week.
Skyler is beyond excited. So much to do. Anyone have any tips for that long of a road trip or what to do when we get there? Haha

Sky's got a dominos pizza card fund raiser going on at school. It's $20.99 a card.. Card allows you to get a free large pizza when you buy 1. Theres no limit per order either, according to the website, you could order 10 pizzas and get 10 free. Card expires in June of next year.
Card basically pays for itself after the first pizza purchase.

Skyler is doing great. At his appt today, he got to meet Rapunzel.
🥰
Labs look great. He's gaining weight again. And other routine checks came back amazing.
He's ready for more adventures. 🥰

Thank you everyone for the prayers sorry I hadn't updated.
Sky came home last week. He was in fact in rejection but has made a complete recovery. He's doing fabulous.
Yesterday we went to the water park and that was sky's first time freely playing in the water outside.
He and his siblings had a blast.

My hearts so full of joy.
I'm truly blessed.

Asking for prayers.
Skyler has been in the hospital for a couple days now. He spiked a fever the night before last. After a few hours in the er, we were told it's because he has a common cold. With him being immunosuppressed, common colds can have a huge effect on him.
His kidney function is fine, but we're not out of the woods. They're concerned that he may be in early stages of rejection. They're going to do a biopsy in the morning of his new kidney.
From what I understand.. If he is in early stages of rejection, it should be early enough to intervene, and do something to prevent further damage.
I'm praying his body isn't rejecting at all.

Just a cute quick update. I didn't realize how long it had been since I updated.
We are out enjoying our newfound free time. I didn't realize how exhausting it was going to and from the hospital for dialysis for 12-15 hours a week. Not including hospital stays.
All this free time and energy Skyler has, we've been exploring the world around us.
Sometimes I forget to sit and reflect and appreciate the new life we have post transplant.
He's a brand new kid. He's unstoppable.
He's amazing.

I received a message asking if I'm still taking donations.
I haven't asked. I haven't thought about it.

I found this online and sobbed.. I'm still sobbing.
Organ donation is such a beautiful thing..
It's bittersweet really..
I wish I could hug the family that donated their loved ones' organs.
These beautiful unknown to us people are our heros.
I don't say that lightly. They saved Skylers life.
And I will forever be grateful.

Thank you, to anyone who is, or was, or has been an organ donor.
You're all heroes.

Skylers doing amazing. So much so that we are down to post transplant clinic visits once a week. That will soon be ONE visit every 3-6 months.
I am again crying happy tears.
Still overwhelmed with emotions.
3 more days until he can take an actual bath!
Shout out to everyone who has helped with Skylers dino bedroom!
You guys are incredible.

I'm up, at 12:50am. Making this beautiful little boy, eggs and hamburger patties.
Before his transplant, he was never really hungry.
I had to beg him to eat his food.. he'd take a couple bites and want absolutely nothing more. I'd have to feed him through his gtube.

But not anymore. This boy eats, and eats, and eats lol. Has the appetite of a grown man.
I love it. It may seem silly to some, the things I'm proud of. Or excited about.. but things are so different now. I tear up just looking at him.. sometimes he calls me silly. Lol other times he's the sweetest and just falls into me and tells me he loves me.
He AMAZES me
If you would have told me a year ago.. we'd be here today with him yelling across the apartment asking if his eggs and bacon was done at almost 1am.. I would have laughed at you.

Overwhelmed with emotions today.. Skyler is doing fabulous. He's going into surgery. Getting a stent removed, and his dialysis catheter removed.
Dialysis has been skylers whole life. I unregrettably adjusted mine and all of my children's life around Skyler's dialysis, I'm not complaining by any means. Thats what kept him alive. Its just amazing that now hes not on it.. In the last 3-4 weeks since his transplant.. not only skylers life, but our whole lives changed for the better.. he's incredible. He is where I find most of my strength.

Hey! I hope everyone is doing well.. Skyler is doing great.
He was hospitalized due to a fever for a couple days but is back home.
Turns out he had rhinovirus.
Because he's on immunosuppressants any regular cold could keep him in bed or worse.
But he's doing so much better and is thriving. Eating everything in sight.
His labs are great. He missed his nurses in dialysis, so we went to visit.
I'm so proud of him.
He amazes me every day.
Thank you everyone for the good vibes. 🥰
