Dustin was just shy of his 8th birthday when he lost his one-year-old sister.

Hazel’s journey is a story of bravery and strength…
but through the eyes of a child, it was also a journey filled with questions.
Questions no one ever truly has the answers to.

Hazel the Brave Little Caterpillar was written for children ages 3–10, to help them understand what bravery looks like and to gently guide them through the journey of saying goodbye.

Because even the smallest hearts carry the biggest feelings. 💚

This photo was taken one month prior to Hazel’s hospitalization. Reference photo is in the comments. Although we can never replace Hazel in his arms, we can provide comfort in knowing that not all caterpillars turn into butterflies — some turn into angel. 🪽

International Parental Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 March)

Parents in the mito community manage a lot — appointments, energy levels, school, care plans and more.

That takes strength.

This week is a reminder to check in with yourself too.

If you need support, our Helpline is here: 1300 977 180

Every tiny heartbeat,
every whispered dream,
from the faintest line
to arms that held and had to let go —
all loss matters.
No matter how early,
no matter how small,
love had already begun,
and so the grieving is real.
Every baby,
every hope,
every goodbye —
counts. 🤍
