Hazel The Brave Little Caterpillar isn't just a children's collection. It is a true journey of love, bravery, sickness and sibling loss. As the proud Nana of Hazel Grace & Dustin Micheal, I knew the moment we said goodbye, Hazel's story did not end in at ACH PICU room #8.

Dustin was just shy of 8 years old when he released his sisters hand. You could literally see the wheels moving in his head, he had so many questions. Small minds & small hearts, still have big feeling and big questions.

I made it my mission to turn Hazel's journey with Mitochondrial Disease into a story of understanding for little hearts. Not all caterpillar's become butterflies, some become angels. 💚

Today we celebrate the beauty of God’s creation all around us.

From tiny caterpillars to blooming gardens, creation reminds us of growth, hope and new beginnings. Grace that flows like a river to Truths that grow with us. Nature is all round us.

So many of my stories are inspired by these very moments — the beauty of nature and the healing it represents.
