“My transplant gave me a second chance at life.”

This World Kidney Day, Southern Legacy of Life is proud to highlight Chante’le’ Williams, a kidney recipient whose journey is a powerful reminder of why organ donation matters. Since receiving her transplant, Chante’le’s life has been transformed. With renewed strength, restored health, and a deeper appreciation for each day, she now uses her second chance to serve others. As an active volunteer with Southern Legacy of Life, she shares her transplant story throughout the community, inspiring others to say “yes” to donation. More than 100,000 people in the United States are currently waiting for a life-saving organ. On World Kidney Day, we honor stories like Chante’le’s and reaffirm our commitment to increasing awareness, equity, and access to transplantation.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Tasha Stanton, the Chief Financial Officer of Southern Legacy of Life. With nearly a decade focused on organ donation and transplant finance, and more than 18 years of experience in nonprofit and governmental accounting, Tasha ensures SLL’s financial foundation is strong, ethical, and sustainable. Her strategic leadership makes it possible for our mission to continue restoring lives through the recovery of organs and tissues. Tasha’s commitment is deeply personal: her passion for this work began when her uncle received a life-saving kidney transplant. That experience drives her every day to steward resources responsibly and maximize impact. Today, we honor her wisdom and integrity, because strong leadership behind the scenes means more lives saved on the front lines. 💙💚
