💜 April 29 is National Fentanyl Awareness Day 💜

Today, we pause to raise awareness about the devastating impact of fentanyl and to stand in support of individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use. Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid—often mixed into other substances without a person’s knowledge—making it one of the leading causes of overdose deaths across our nation.

At Recovery Centers of Arkansas, we see the real-life impact of this crisis every day—but we also see something just as powerful: hope, resilience, and recovery.

✨ What you can do today:
• Learn the signs of an overdose
• Carry naloxone (Narcan) if you’re able
• Talk openly about substance use and reduce stigma
• Encourage loved ones to seek help

Recovery is possible—and no one has to walk this journey alone.

If you or someone you love is struggling, we are here to help with compassionate, evidence-based care for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

🚨 Community Help Needed – Stolen Generator 🚨

Recovery Centers of Arkansas (RCA) is reaching out to our community for help. Within the last week, a Champion Generator was stolen from our Williamsburg Facility — a piece of equipment that plays a critical role in helping us continue providing life-saving treatment services during power outages. This generator allows us to keep parts of our program center operating so the individuals we serve can remain safe, supported, and as comfortable as possible during emergencies.

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Arkansans in recovery, every resource we have directly impacts the care we provide. The loss of this generator affects real people who are working hard to rebuild their lives.

🔎 REWARD OFFERED: Recovery Centers of Arkansas is offering a reward for information that leads to the safe return of our generator. We are able to verify ownership through the serial number.

If you have any information, please contact us directly or reach out to local law enforcement. Even the smallest tip could make a difference.

❤️ Thank you for standing with RCA and helping us continue to bring hope, healing, and recovery to our community.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas’s Executive Director, David Bradshaw, and Director of Outreach and Development, Adam Reynolds, discuss the barriers individuals face when seeking treatment and how the community can play a vital role in removing those obstacles.

Recovery Centers of Arkansas (RCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing life-saving treatment and restoring hope for all Arkansans in need. RCA offers substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment for men and women who are struggling daily—many of whom are fighting for their lives. Our mission is simple: to meet individuals exactly where they are and provide care in an environment rooted in dignity, compassion, and respect.

For many, the decision to seek treatment can be overwhelming. Fear of failure, fear of success, and fear of the unknown often prevent individuals from taking that first step. RCA works to educate individuals about what to expect before and during treatment, helping to ease those concerns. Additionally, stigma remains a significant barrier. Many people view addiction as a personal or moral failing; however, RCA recognizes addiction as a disease. We focus on addressing the guilt and shame individuals may carry while offering understanding and support.

One of the greatest challenges RCA faces is inadequate funding. Many individuals we serve are uninsured or underinsured. While some lack coverage entirely, others have insurance plans with deductibles and copays so high that treatment remains financially out of reach—even for those who work hard and faithfully pay their premiums. No one should be denied care due to financial limitations.

This is where community support becomes essential. The need is significant, and we cannot meet it alone. Donations help fund treatment for uninsured and underinsured individuals, ensuring that everyone seeking help has access to care. Community generosity helps remove barriers, saves lives, and supports individuals throughout their recovery journey. A gift today could be the lifeline a family member, friend, or neighbor needs.

We invite the community to visit our website at www.rcofa.org to learn more about Recovery Centers of Arkansas. Whether through sharing our mission, praying with us, making a one-time or recurring donation, or contributing scholarship funds for treatment, every act of support makes a difference. We are deeply grateful for every gift—large or small—as together we continue to inspire hope for all.

As the year winds down, we’ve been reflecting on what made it so special — and every time, it leads back to our team, the community and our clients.

Earlier this month, we gathered to celebrate an amazing year together. With treats, games, and gifts, it was a wonderful chance to slow down, share some laughs, and enjoy time with an incredible team.

Moments like these remind us how grateful we are for the people who show up each day with heart, dedication, and a passion for serving others.

We’re deeply thankful for another meaningful year and can’t wait to carry that gratitude into the year ahead.

A Holiday Message from Recovery Centers of Arkansas/Oasis

The holiday season can be a time of joy and celebration, but for many, it also brings feelings of loneliness, stress, and anxiety.

We understand that entering treatment during this time may feel overwhelming, and those hesitations can delay the care you truly need. Our team is here to walk alongside you with compassion and understanding.

Here are some common concerns we hear during the holidays—

• “I can’t afford treatment.”
Many don’t realize that most insurance policies reset on January 1st. This means you may still have benefits available to use before the end of the year, which can greatly reduce your out-of-pocket costs. Taking advantage of these benefits now can make treatment more accessible.

• “Travel is too stressful during the holidays.”
We can help coordinate options closer to home. Treatment centers are experienced in welcoming clients during the holidays and work hard to make the process calm and supportive.

• “Things aren’t that bad—I can hold on until after the holidays.”
Stress, grief, family dynamics, and disruptions in routine often intensify symptoms this time of year. Seeking help now can prevent crises later and give you the strength and support to navigate the season safely.

• “I can’t take a break from school or work.”
Holiday breaks can actually be the ideal time to begin treatment, minimizing disruption to your education or employment. With resources available to help negotiate school deadlines or workplace responsibilities, you can focus on your recovery without fear of falling behind.

✨ As we move through the holidays and into the New Year, please remember: you are not alone. Recovery Centers of Arkansas/Oasis is here for you, ready to provide care, hope, and healing.
