This month is Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month. According to the International Association of Fire Fighters, 79.4% of line-of-duty deaths were related to occupational cancer. Firefighters face repeated exposure to carcinogens through smoke, soot, and contaminated gear. This makes awareness, prevention, and early detection more critical than ever, including for melanoma and other skin cancers.
