Good Shepherd Community began as an ecumenical mission conceived by the bishops of Arkansas’ Catholic, Episcopal and United Methodist churches to provide an innovative way to fill the need for affordable, not-for-profit housing options for local seniors. Since 1975, Good Shepherd has worked to identify and respond to the health and social needs of senior adults of all ethnicities and backgrounds i

Over time, Good Shepherd has grown from a single building of 200 apartments into a full-service retirement community with five facilities with more than 500 apartments, all located on a picturesque 145-acre campus in west Little Rock. Good Shepherd is committed to offering our residents a balanced quality of life by providing a true community atmosphere, attractive living spaces, and a healthy and independent lifestyle – with all the comforts and conveniences of home – including good friends and neighbors.

Apartments now available at The Shepherd's Cove. Residents of The Cove are served two meals per day, received weekly laundry and housekeeping, as well as transportation. This week Good Shepherd residents were lucky to have Park Ranger Natalie Moore share some of the history and artifacts from the Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park (formerly known as Toltec Mounds).

Plum Bayou is one of four National Historic Landmarks in the Arkansas State Park system. The park is one of the largest and most complex mound sites in the state, which is believed to have been a ceremonial ground for prehistoric Native American gatherings. The historic site is a short drive from Little Rock.

Squash blossoms, tomatoes, flowers, and more. That's what our residents have grown in their gardens at the Moore and Rhinehart buildings. We have raised beds for residents who like growing things. It is a nice way to keep active, soak in some vitamin D, have fresh vegetables, and create something beautiful along the way!
