Radiology Associates, P.A., (RAPA) provides patients in Arkansas with a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, coupled highly skilled physicians trained in virtually all radiological disciplines. Available treatment technologies include x-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), computed tomography (CT) and diagnostic ultrasound. At the Arkansas Vein Center we offer a full range of treatment for superficial venous insufficiency along with cosmetic therapies for spider veins. Our vascular technologist and physicians may initially perform a venous ultrasound and mapping to diagnose the level of vein disease. If we diagnose superficial venous insufficiency, insurance will typically pay for treatment, which may include VNUS Closure, endovenous laser ablation, phlebectomy and sclerotherapy injections. These methods are proven effective. They are minimally invasive, utilizing local anesthetic, with little or no discomfort and a low risk of complication.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Sherry Smith 🌟

Meet Sherry, a dedicated Radiologic Technologist with an impressive 40 years of experience in Mammography and Special Procedures. Her credentials — RT (R)(M) ARRT — reflect her deep expertise and commitment to excellence in patient care.

Sherry was inspired to enter the field by her compassion for people, and she continues to find joy in listening to patients, making them feel heard and cared for during their procedures.

One of her most memorable moments in her career was producing cine pictures on film using the Jameson processor — a testament to how far technology has come and how much she’s seen over the years.

Her advice to anyone considering a career in radiology?
“If you want to help others, it is a good field for you.”

Outside of work, Sherry’s heart belongs to the outdoors — especially when she’s spending time with her horses. After years of working indoors, she finds peace and passion in nature.

Meet Melanie, a compassionate technologist with 16 years of experience specializing in Mammography and Breast Ultrasound. Melanie’s interest in radiology began with a personal experience as a teenager, sparking a lifelong passion for helping others through imaging.

She finds deep fulfillment in helping patients overcome fear and anxiety surrounding breast imaging, while also promoting breast health. Her gentle approach and dedication make a lasting impact—especially in moments when patients express their gratitude with a heartfelt hug.

Melanie’s advice to those considering a career in radiology is simple but powerful:
