🎉Congratulations to Steven A. Webber, MBChB, MRCP, the fourth recipient of the AMS Distinguished Dean’s Chair!

On Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, Arkansas Medical Society leadership attended the formal investiture of Dr. Webber. In attendance from AMS were David Wroten, executive vice president, and other staff members; Naveen Patil, MD, president-elect; Samuel Bledsoe, MD, secretary; and George Conner III, MD, immediate past president. Additional past presidents and other members were also in attendance.

Another Informative Antibiotic Resistance Update Event

From evidence-based updates to engaging and educational discussions, the AMS Antibiotic Stewardship Event, held recently at Native Dog Brewing in Camden, Arkansas, was a tremendous success! Thanks to attendees and to speaker Ryan Dare, MD.

One of several that will happen across the state this year, this event was part of a collaborative initiative by AMS and the Arkansas Department of Health, with support from AMS Diamond Sponsor Arvest Bank to promote safer, more effective antimicrobial practices in the outpatient setting.
