In recognition of , the UAMS Office of Volunteer Engagement and the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Volunteer Services, Auxiliary partnered to host the UAMS Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon—bringing together volunteers from across UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to celebrate service, collaboration, and community.

Volunteers from UAMS Medical Center and UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute gathered as one community to connect, share stories, and enjoy lunch together (special thanks to UAMS Catering Services!). The event reflected the collaborative spirit our volunteers model every day in service to patients, families, colleagues—and one another.

The luncheon also recognized this year’s volunteer appreciation award recipients, honoring milestone service hours and excellence in service:

We have some fun activities throughout the week to highlight our volunteers, celebrate your achievements, and show how much UAMS Health appreciates what each of you bring to the table.

⭐ MONDAY - Volunteer Trivia - Check your email today, be the first to answer our volunteerism trivia questions! The Office of Volunteer Engagement will send out a volunteerism-focused trivia question across three rounds: 8:30 AM, 12 PM, 4 PM. Three chances to win!

⭐WEDNESDAY - WayFinding Wednesday - We are highlighting our talented WayFinders this Wednesday — folks who help patients, families, and staff navigate UAMS Health. Office of Volunteer Engagement staff will also be volunteering as WayFinders to celebrate!

⭐THURSDAY - Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon - In partnership with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute (WPRCI) Auxiliary, we are hosting our annual UAMS Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

We will gather to share community, hear from UAMS leadership and our keynote speaker, and celebrate our volunteers with bestowal of our annual awards. Come out and support fellow volunteers and enjoy lunch - on us!

Healthcare Education Active Learning Experience for Regional Scholars (HEALERS) gives rising high school juniors and seniors in Pulaski County an opportunity to explore medical careers. Each year, students come together for 2 weeks of interactive workshops, seminars and panel presentations, and volunteering at .

Students will gain real-life knowledge of health professions through innovative service learning experiences with . Students will also build knowledge of health-related career pathways, participate in First Aid and Basic Life Support (CPR) training, while earning 80 hours of volunteer service.

Happy Holidays! Celebrate the season with UAMS Auxiliary. Join us TODAY at the Main Entrance/Hospital Lobby Gallery for our annual Holiday Tree Lighting & Card Signing Celebration. Current & Upcoming Auxiliary Events - Winter Holidays 2025 ⛄❄

We are accepting donations of new blankets for our yearly UAMS Auxiliary Covered in Love Blanket Drive. Now through mid-month, come by our office (Ward Tower, Suite 1E50) with your donations, which will go directly to patients and families over the holidays.

A Decade of Warmth: Annual Blanket Drive Returns! ✨

We want to collaborate with you to wrap patients and families in warmth this winter. From November 3rd through December 10th, we are accepting donations of new blankets in the spirit of the season.

For the past 10 years, UAMS Auxiliary has shared your gifts to create comfort, hope, and healing for patients and families with UAMS Medical Center over the holidays.

Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, our organization has been able to gift brand-new blankets to patients in our hospital units, hand-delivered by Santa Claus and his troupe of Auxiliary elves.

Come by with your donation now through Dec. 10th. We are located at the Office of Volunteer Engagement, UAMS Medical Center Suite 1E50, across from the Gift Shop. You can also contact Jaimel Jointer (jjointer@uams.edu) to arrange pickup.

Donate as many blankets as you like—we accept small or bulk donations.
