Our Weekly Spotlight is focused on the one and only Amanda Brucks! As a surgical technologist, Amanda has a heart of gold and a sharp mind that keeps our O.R. running smoothly.

But she's not stopping there—Amanda is also actively working to become a registered nurse. We're still trying to figure out how she manages to do it all!

When she finally gets a moment to breathe, Amanda loves to curl up with a good book, create a culinary masterpiece in the kitchen, and, most importantly, snuggle with her fiancé and two beloved dogs.

Plus, you might recognize her handiwork: Amanda is the incredible designer and seamstress behind some of our favorite scrub caps, often going the extra mile to design the custom fabric herself. Amanda is a truly amazing force of nature

ODS weekly spotlight shines on our amazing nurse, Hunter Bise, who consistently exhibits a positive attitude and brings so much joy to UAMS. As a fan of the Razorbacks, Cardinals and Dallas Stars, Hunter's enthusiasm is contagious. Woo pigs!! ODS Spotlight is back and shines bright on Surgical Tech Martha Acosta. Martha is a beacon of positivity in One Day Surgery. She is always spreading happiness and joy to patients and staff alike. In her free time she pursues her passions, playing pickle ball, going hiking, painting and crafting. Her family is her rock, with her adorable little boy and lovable wiener dog, sharing her life with her devoted husband.

ODS spotlight is back and shines bright on scrub tech Erin Palas. In her words, Erin says she is “the funniest person in this department and I keep everyone laughing with my quick whit and perfect smile”! We will admit, she is pretty funny! And she does keep us very entertained! When she is not cracking jokes in the OR, she is at home with her (even funnier) husband of 21 years and their 2 daughters. But her true love is her dog, Flynn.

Thank you Erin for all that you do for your teammates and your patients! We are lucky you moved all the way from Illinois to work with us!
