Healthy habits start at home, and parents play an important role in shaping how kids think about food! The goal is to help your kiddos learn balance and confidence around their meals.

Here are 4 simple ideas to try:
🥕 Offer a variety of foods and let kids explore at their own pace
🍎 Keep nutritious options visible and easy to grab
🥗 Make meals together so kids feel involved
💬 Talk about food as fuel for growing, learning, and playing, not as “good” or “bad”

If you are working toward healthier routines at home, we would love to support you. Bring your questions to your next appointment!

When it comes to your diet, progress matters more than perfection

Try this 3–2–1 grocery guide:
✅ 3 proteins (chicken, eggs, beans, Greek yogurt)
✅ 2 colorful fruits or vegetables (fresh or frozen!)
✅ 1 whole-grain option (brown rice, oats, or whole wheat bread)

These small choices help support steady energy, a stronger immune system, and overall well-being.

If you need nutrition guidance for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, or weight goals, we'll help!

National Nutrition Month is a good reminder that healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated or perfect. Starting with small, realistic changes to your dietary habits will make a big difference over time.

Here are a few simple ways to support your nutrition this week:
🥗 Aim for balance at meals by including a protein, a fiber-rich food, and at least one fruit or vegetable
💧 Keep water within reach throughout the day
🧀 Keep one easy, go-to snack on hand, like yogurt, nuts, fruit, or cheese
🫐 Add just one extra serving of fruits or vegetables to your day

If you don't know where to start with your diet, talk to your doctor. We're happy to help you create a plan that supports your long-term health.

This Sunday, we spring forward and lose an hour of sleep, and even one hour can make a difference in how you feel. Many people notice more fatigue, trouble concentrating, irritability, and headaches for a few days after the time change.

A few gentle ways to help your body adjust:
🌙 Go to bed 15–20 minutes earlier for the next few nights
📵 Power down screens 30–60 minutes before bed
☀️ Get morning sunlight to reset your internal clock
☕ Keep caffeine earlier in the day
🕰️ Stick to a consistent wake-up time (even on the weekend)

If you already struggle with sleep, snoring, or daytime tiredness, this is a great time to talk with your provider. Good sleep supports your mood, focus, immune system, and heart health.

Spring sports are back, and we love cheering on our young athletes, but it's also a good time to talk about safety and head injuries. If a concussion is suspected, the safest play is to pause and get checked, because returning too soon can put your child at risk for a longer recovery or another injury.

A safe return-to-play plan usually includes:
✅ Rest and symptom monitoring first
✅ A step-by-step increase in activity (only if symptoms stay gone)
✅ No full contact until cleared by a medical professional
✅ A return-to-learn plan if schoolwork triggers symptoms

Every concussion is different, and the goal is always the same: a full, healthy recovery. If your child has a head injury or symptoms after a game or practice, we can help guide the next steps and get them back to the sport they love safely.

Concussions can happen in any sport, accident, or activity, and while they might be common, they are a type of brain injury and should be taken seriously. Symptoms are not always immediate or obvious, and knowing what to watch for is an important part of protecting your health.

Common concussion symptoms may include:
🧠 Headache or pressure in the head
😵 Dizziness or balance problems
🤢 Nausea or vomiting
😴 Fatigue or trouble sleeping
🧩 Difficulty concentrating or feeling “foggy”
😠 Mood changes, irritability, or sensitivity to light or noise

If you or your child experiences a head injury and something doesn't feel right, get evaluated. We will assess symptoms, provide guidance, and support your safe recovery.

One of the best things you can do during National Cancer Prevention Month is make sure you’re up to date on screenings. 🎗️✅

Screenings are designed to catch concerns early—often before symptoms show up—so you’re not guessing or waiting. If you’ve been putting off a checkup or if you have a family history you’d like to discuss, let’s talk. We’ll help you understand what’s recommended for your age and risk factors. 🩺🤝

Today, we’re honoring caregivers, those who care for others with love, patience, and strength, even when they’re tired. 💙🙏

If you’re caring for a parent, spouse, child, or friend, please hear this: your health matters, too. It’s good to ask for help, take breaks, and keep your own appointments. If you need a place to check in and be cared for as well, we’d be honored to support you. 🤍
