This weekend, I traded my usual massage table for something a little more… historic 🛁✨
I spent time exploring the bathhouses in Hot Springs, Arkansas—and let me tell you, it completely changed the way I think about what I do.
Back in the day, bathhouses weren’t about pampering or spa days. They were medical facilities. People traveled from all over to soak in the thermal waters, receive massage treatments, and work with practitioners who focused on real healing—circulation, recovery, pain relief, and overall wellness.
Sound familiar? 😉
It was a powerful reminder that massage therapy has deep roots in healthcare—not just relaxation. What I do (and love!) is part of a long tradition of helping the body heal, restore, and function better.
Of course, I still believe relaxation is important too—but there’s something special about reconnecting with the original purpose behind this work.
Now I’m back, inspired, refreshed, and even more passionate about helping my clients feel and move better in their everyday lives.
Have you ever experienced a historic bathhouse or natural hot springs? I’d love to hear about it! 💬
