Ever heard the saying, "All extroverts love big parties"? One common myth about extroversion vs. introversion is the idea that extroverts are always the life of the party, thriving in large social gatherings and constantly seeking out big social events. While extroverts are often energized by social interactions, they also value alone time.

The concept of introversion and extroversion was first introduced by Carl Jung (1921). His theory suggested that these traits influence how individuals interact with the world around them. Later research, including studies by Hans Eysenck and the development of the Big Five personality traits, expanded on Jung’s initial ideas, illustrating a spectrum rather than a binary classification (Eysenck, 1967; Goldberg, 1990).

Most recent studies, like those in the field of personality psychology, emphasize that people aren’t just introverts or extroverts. Many of us fall somewhere in between, in a category often referred to as 'ambiverts'.

Visual perceptual skills allow children to make sense of visual information in their environments and to successfully complete academic tasks.

Evidence shows that poor readers in first and second grade perform more errors on visual search and spatial-cuing tasks than strong readers (Franceschini et al., 2012). Also, many children with dyslexia show a visual processing deficit (Valdois et al., 2011). Yet, teaching and practicing visual perception is not formally addressed in school. And the link between visual perceptual skills and reading is rarely studied (Bellocchi et al., 2017).

To promote children's overall development, try to incorporate these FUN visual perception activities into kids' days! What are your favorite visual perceptual activities? Share in the comments!
