Expanding HoriZens Children’s Yoga Provides children of all ages fun and healthy activities that nourish the mind and body Taryn has always been passionate about helping others.

Upon graduating from Quinnipiac University she practiced as an Occupational Therapist for 20 years and along the way obtained a Masters degree in Educational Psychology (with a focus in Learning Cognition and Development), from Rutgers University. Concurrently, she worked with various children at a charter school in Jersey City NJ and at an outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Weehawken, NJ. As sh

e and her husband were planning to have a family they made a decision for her to temporarily put her career on hold to focus entirely on raising a family. After having her children she found yoga. Taryn began to practice and saw the amazing benefits it had on her life and then the positive developmental benefits it had on her children. When both of Taryn's children became school age she returned to work as an Occupational therapist in a local school system. She saw again how well children responded to the positve aspects of yoga. Her continued interest in yoga led her to attend various yoga continuing education conferences and ultimately becoming a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher, a certified teen yoga teacher and and a certified adult yoga teacher- as recognized through Yoga Alliance. As a healthcare professional and a mother, Taryn is able to bring a unique appreciation of the inter-dependencies of the physical, psychological and spiritual growth in young children.
