I had to share, this video had me laughing so hard.

But seriously, who needs a diet with so many rules to stick to? Why should someone have to give up their favorite foods for the rest of their lives or risk reversing their hard work?

I know, when we decide we want to lose weight, improve blood sugars, or just eat better, we want it to happen right now.

No matter how motivated we are, making big changes (and sticking to them) are often difficult and if we don't have realistic expectations, we often set ourselves up for failure.

Instead of making big changes to speed towards your results, consider breaking things up into smaller, easier changes and spreading it over time (think turtle pace instead of rabbit pace to get to your end goal).

Bodyweight is not the only to measure progress. Your body is composed of fat, muscle, organs, bones and water. Each person has a different body composition and body fat percentage which can be changed with diet and exercise. A person with a higher body fat percentage will look different from someone, the same height and weight, but lifts weights and has a lower body fat percentage. While the number on the scale may not be changing, your body composition just might be.

Although having a weight goal is an easy way to measure success, consider using other ways such as having your clothes fit better, having more energy, improving your strength or sport performance.
