For my local friends, you’re invited to join me for a hiking & yoga outing on Tuesday, May 20th at 9 am. We’ll meet at Brannon Gearhart Park, hike a 2-3 mile loop, and end back at the park for some picnic table yoga - no mats required!! The whole excursion should last around 1.5 hours.

In honor of World Health Day today, I would be remiss not to mention the ancient science of Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India and sister science of yoga. Ayurveda gives us the wisdom, guidance and principles of how to find balance within ourselves and our own lives, and how to be in harmony with nature, society, our own individual constitution, and the universe as a whole. Ayurveda helps us to create the optimum environment for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and wellbeing.

One of my favorite quotes of Joseph Pilates. So true. I think back to my early 40s when I was laid up on my back (several times) as a result of a herniated disc and how old I felt in my body. As a result of my Pilates practice, I have strength, stability, and mobility in my spine and feel so much younger than I did 12 years ago.
