Core Connections Pelvic Health

Core Connections Pelvic Health Lasting resolution for leakage, constipation, & pelvic pain. Located in Littleton, CO. Welcome, I'm so glad you're here!

I am Dr. Leanna Racine, PT, DPT, founder and lead physical therapist at Core Connections Pelvic Health. My mission is to help people live life free from urinary leaking, bowel issues, pelvic pain, or limitations in how they exercise, move their body, or engage in sexual intimacy. As a mom myself, I am particularly inspired by helping pregnant and postpartum people navigate a changing body and feel "connected" to their deep center. Grounded in science, clinical expertise, and a holistic whole-person and whole-body approach, I believe that healing starts by connecting deeply with patients and truly listening to their stories. I am incredibly passionate about providing the highest level of specialized care, because I know pelvic floor physical therapy truly changes lives.

🩸What’s normal, and what’s not, when it comes to your period!

🩸 Menstrual cycles are often referred to as the 5th vital sign because they provide meaningful insight into overall health, but many people don’t get good education on what is considered (not) normal, or how and where to seek help for period-related pain or issues.

🩸 The pelvic floor muscles & surrounding areas play an important role in menstrual health, and at Core Connections we love helping people reduce period-related concerns and supporting more comfortable, balanced cycles!

🩸Questions about your cycle or how we support menstrual health in the clinic, give us a call/text at 720-823-3030

🙋🏻‍♀️We’d love to know, what are yours?

🌀Do you have a prolapse, pelvic heaviness/bulging, or stubborn leakage? Are you bothered now but concerned it’s going to keep getting worse? Or maybe you’ve already stopped doing the things you used to enjoy like running or lifting weights. Or, maybe you’re just tired of wearing black leggings all the time due to leakage💧

🌀Or it could be that you feel limited running around with your kids because of what’s going on in your pelvis…and you’re thinking, if this is happening now, what’s to come in 5, 10, 20 years…?

🙌🏽 Know that there is help for all the above! Generally, clinical guidelines* recommend trying non-surgical options first in managing prolapse/pelvic heaviness. Here are some options:

🌟Pelvic floor therapy: train the pelvic floor and muscles around the pelvis to build support around a prolapse, learn how to control the pressures going down onto a prolapse and other effective management techniques.
🌟Lifestyle modifications: including things like avoiding constipation, modifying exercise and activities, weight mngt, etc to reduce stress on a prolapse
🌟Pessary: A first-line treatment! Pessaries function like a sports bra for your va**na, they are small soft pieces of (typically) silicone worn internally to help support the extra movement of the va**nal wall. They are easy to manage and a great solution for many! We offer pessary services in-house at Core Connections - reach out if you’d like more info! If you’ve tried a pessary before and been less than satisfied, we’re also happy to help troubleshoot with more options
🌟Topical estrogen cream if indicated to improve tissue quality
🌟Surgical treatments used with the aim of restoring va**nal anatomy

🙌🏽Treatment options may be explored individually or combined, and it’s all about finding what works best for you. If you have questions or aren’t sure where to start, send us a message or call/text at 720-823-3030.
