South Denver Cardiology Associates

South Denver Cardiology Associates 30 of the Region's Leading Cardiologists providing award-winning cardiovascular care.

This exceptional medical group, which was launched in 1973, consists of 27 of the Rocky Mountain region’s finest cardiologists, with over 600 years of combined experience caring for Denver’s heart patients. All physicians are university-trained and board-certified in cardiology and are board-certified in their specialty fields. Many of the physicians were among the first in the area to perform such diagnostic and life-saving procedures as cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, non-invasive CT angiography, coronary artery calcium scoring, implantation of cardiac defibrillators, and electrophysiological ablations. Our strong emphasis on prevention and early disease detection has put us at the forefront of wellness education for the community at large. This commitment to enhancing the delivery of cardiac care to our community is what puts SDCA a step ahead of others in patient care and preventative medicine.

Our incredible award-winning Electrophysiologist team (specializing in the detection and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms) continues to be at the forefront of innovative technologies that transform their specialty! As part of a clinical trial (Flex Pulse IDE) they performed the first example of delivering both PFA and RFA energies at the same time in the same location to treat a patient to treat mitral flutter. This method is believed (based upon swine models) to drive a deeper lesion but still take advantage of PFA safety. This was the first in human/first in the world sequential colocalized PFA/RFA treatment. Congrats to the entire team on their achievement!

When facing a cancer diagnosis, the right care makes all the difference. At Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley Cancer Center, we're committed to providing not just treatment but a robust support system built on expertise, advanced care technology, and unwavering compassion.

Consider the journey of individuals like Bruce Strong, whose prostate cancer was confirmed through an elevated PSA during an annual exam. For localized and effective treatment, we employed Brachytherapy, a technique that places radioactive material directly inside the prostate. This method is exceptionally effective at controlling the local recurrence of the tumor.

Then there's Vicki Pentz, a brain cancer patient whose previous experience with her husband's illness could have defined her. Instead, upon her diagnosis of two brain tumors, she embraced action. Where surgical removal of brain tumors carries the risk of leaving tissue behind, GammaTile Therapy provides an effective and more targeted radiation treatment to the tumor cavity to help prevent regrowth.

Hear how our commitment is to not just providing treatment, but hope, allowing our patients to feel supported while navigating their cancer journey.
