🍎 Food insecurity is rising across New Hampshire — and the North Country is being hit hardest.
Coös County currently has the highest rate of food insecurity in the state, meaning more local families are struggling to put food on the table. Rising costs and reduced SNAP benefits are stretching budgets further than ever before — and no one should have to choose between food and other necessities.
💬 The NH CHW Coalition created this resource to highlight what’s happening, how Community Health Workers (CHWs) are helping, and what each of us can do to make a difference.
🧡 CHWs connect families to food resources, help maximize benefits, and break the stigma around asking for help — because access to food is a foundation of health.

With higher food prices, rising cost of living expenses, and increased demand on local food pantries, families across the state are struggling to keep enough food on the table.
We created this infographic to help you understand what is happening, what resources may be available, and how we can work together to make a difference.
As always, CHWs are here to help.
They can support individuals in:
• Maximizing benefits they receive
• Finding local food resources
• Overcoming stigma around asking for help
• Navigating next steps during difficult times
🧡And as a community, we can step up too.
Donating, volunteering, advocating, and spreading accurate information all help strengthen our local food system.
